Don't get me wrong, I think money for education is pretty important. However, when liberals have taken over our children's education system with bullshit like common core I will not pay one cent towards that crap. I don't have kids and I love my guns, but putting things into perspective I'd be more likely to donate money to a group that would fight crap like common core instead of protecting our gun rights. Call me crazy, I just think the QUALITY of our children's education is so bloody important.

I wish I could have seen her face! It's funny how that is always their excuse to pass new legislation "it's for the children". Somehow I don't think that the increase in taxes will help the children, because it get's lost in the system along the way. Maybe instead of shoveling all of his money into the political game, Bloomberg should have just given it to the schools instead. Then I'd believe he cared about education.

Its for the children of illegals, mostly. Its a tax to pay for more computers and bi-lingualists for all the illegals, at least 60% of it is.

What are the numbers on 66? Does it look like it will pass?

Not scientific in any way but a sponsored ad for 66 has come up on Facebook several times in the last weeks and the comments were 98% hell no. Also looking through the forums on Denver Post articles for 66 the usual Obama zombies are oddly silent on the topic.

Im hopeful this follows the trend of most votes for increased school taxes and dies overwhelmingly.

    ^^^ Same here

On a side note, a friend of mine posted a pro 66 piece on his FB page and I gave him the biz about the language of the bill and how misleading it was etc etc, his buddy chimes in defending 66 and states hes a co-author of the bill and how it will be this glorious "For the kids" money grab. I ask him to show me the exact language that says once the money is collected and distributed to the districts that it must be used for teachers, classes and school programs, I also asked what the last sentence on the ballot meant where it says something to the effect of "All taxes collected can be used without further voter approval". Its been several weeks now and no response which tells me I called his bullshit.

since this is a "mail in only" election you probably have to go down to the Clerk & Recorder's office to drop off your ballot.

I think this is the dropoff places http://www.co.adams.co.us/DocumentCenter/View/4016
