Mandy on 630 AM in the mornings said that same thing. She said they start by asking for the world, then bring it down a bit to make it seem "not so bad". I believe this was their second attempt. First try was for 2 billion or so, if I remember correctly. Now it was a billion. Next year, it'll be half a billion increase.

While they will continue to try to pass this at lower doses, a large majority voted against it. We just need to remain vigilant.

If this was just a tax increase to fund schools, it would have been really close. The poison pill I think was the heavy handed and idiotic attempt to siphon local tax revenue from well off school districts and funnel it into the Denver area. My property taxes are insanely high in west Jeffco, and I would be extremely pissed if that was being siphoned off and sent to Denver...might as well just replace the Colorado flag with the hammer and sickle and address everyone as comrade. What a bunch of communist filth we have taking over this state. I purposely boycott Denver and I don't support their economy and I sure as hell am not going to provide them with tax revenue. If this had passed, I would have been forced to move.

Which is basically what EVERYONE that gets their asses handed to them in an election says ... of course the left never stops, they will be back with another tax hike next election ... which is good because nothing gets conservatives to the polls like tax hikes and gun control.

I have a "friend" (really she's hot, and I'd like to sleep with her, and that's about it) who is in school to become a teacher, and does student teaching at a middle school in the metro area, and she was severely butthurt over 66 failing. She even went as far as saying on FB yesterday:

I pretty much flat out told her that throwing money at children won't make them better, it should start with people like YOU who actually give two shits about teaching regardless of the computers, iPads, etc. you're given, and actually teaching our children and preparing them for the real world. Shoot, I didn't even get a laptop until I graduated high school, and even then it was not top-of-the-line, and I still think I turned out pretty good despite being a product of Jeffco Public Schools between the mid-90's and early 00's.
