Most of the fiasco at the Bay of Pigs was caused by the ineptness and indecisiveness of Dean Rusk, his Secretary of State and Bobby Kennedy trying to make a name for himself.

Clinton's Mogadishu was another case of same. His senior officers wanted to bring in a couple of the available AC-130 gunships as backup, Bubba agreed... then when mission got underway he changed his mind...didn't want to make the Somalian warlords too angry don'cha know...

And what would you rather the tax dollars be spent on? Another shitty bottomless spending pit of a state of the art combat vehicle that will never be allowed to be used because it's too expensive to risk?

If taxes are being collected they should be spent on infrastructure the gov is responsible for, roads (which are crumbling), water/sewer (also crumbling), updating the power grid and hardening against outside forces (EMP/solar threats), and how about giving our armed forces a little raise instead of handing it out to people who refuse to work.
