He's really ignorant of the Constitution for a "Constitutional schlolar". Just because congress does or does not do something doesn't give him the authority to do or not do it depending on what he thinks is best. And why isn't he accountable for breaking the law...over and over again? In my opinion he, and most of his cabinet, and most of the house and senate are derelict in the performance of their duty to uphold and protect the Constitution.

Standing in the middle of a PUBLIC road way is much different than being on A GOVERNMENT INSTALLATION.

This isn't the first time we disagree on something

If i block a road, i'm blocking the road. I am willing to deal with the consequences for my beliefs.
We have an administration who believes what they decide, without approval of Congress is acceptable.
Arrest AMERICAN CITIZENS while ILLEGALS driven across the southwest are given the comforts of home.

Public road or air force base, either way it is civil disobedience. Perfectly valid form of protest but it does carry consequences. It is of interest that the local police wanted no part in enforcing those consequences.

Nor the Mayor. Who was the catalyst, rousing the locals to storm the castle.

Once again the analogy of WHITES IN THE SOUTH, from a Illegal Immigrant Supporter is used.

    http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/07/opinio...html?hpt=hp_t3

The images coming out of Murrieta reminded me of another group of protesters intent on defying an order from the federal government: white Southerners in the 1960s. They also terrorized children, African-Americans who sought to attend desegregated public schools, much as the children on the bus were terrorized by the angry mob.

"The screaming and hateful people in (Murrieta) reminded me of the people who screamed at little black kids walking to schools (accompanied by law enforcement), who treated James Meredith and Autherine Lucy and so many young people horribly. It is so sad that after all these years, so many people haven't gotten a clue about decency and kindness."

Fortunately the comments section is running 60% against ILLEGALS and Ruben's OPINION piece.

Navarette, I seriously disagree with your view on immigrants and I'm a democrat. Stop making excuses and send them back home. This is NOT a humanitarian problem, it's an illegal immigration problem.

What do you do when the door to your house doesn't lock? You stand guard and protect it.

Absolutely. If it for humanitarian reasons there are people living in refugee camps all over Africa that we know without a doubt are in the middle of a crisis. Are we flying those people who are obviously in need to our doorstep? Hell no. Why? Because we could double the population of the country absorbing refugees and there would still be more. We would be creating refugees because now people know make up a story and you are in (like many of these refugees) or leaders would have a way to ship away the people they don't want.

The one thing they seem to forget is that the past issues were with white DEMOCRATS.

This used to be a nation of laws. Now laws are selectively applied to whomever the administration determines to be the enemy and those that the administration finds in favor.

THEY also forget Caesar Chavez, outside of organizing (UFW) for better work / sanitary conditions. Wanted tougher immigration laws, because the "wets" were crossing to CA and under cutting his farm workers.

It's a principle that gets as basic as you can get; You can't have a sovereign nation without defensible borders. Period.
