Slots won't be much fun to cut after forming. Next time, let me know and I'll cut them on the CNC for you with the slots included.

That would be awesome! I dont know easy it will be to get the slots lined up equally on either side as your forming it.

Second holster I've ever attempted. Used a friends shop and tools. About 75% finished with it.

Fortunately, I was able to get the new Nordic barrel from MarkCO installed this A.M., as I DIDN'T GET HOME UNTIL 7:15 TONIGHT! Always when I have some 'smithin to do. I'm starting late tomorrow to make up for the excess overtime I accumulated today in the Springs.
So, in the A.M., I'm going to install the new MI free-float forend and the Fortis RED comp. I do believe I will be able to zero it this weekend! Wahoo!
I had to hog out the Brownell clamshell upper vice to fit my VLTOR upper, they just HAD to add some non-standard bits to it so nothing normal fits. While I'm harping on the VLTOR upper, in their infinite wisdom, they built their upper so that a normal dust-cover rod won't fit without moving the C-clip or relieving the cover at the forward end to move the C-clip aft of the bracket where it enters at the forward end. The barrel nut will hold the rod in, as designed, but the other end is left dangling in the breeze instead of fitting into the forward assist part, which is separate on this upper. Fail.

Well done. Thinking I have to wade in and try this for minion #1, on his 64.

I've been looking at one of those, interesting solution. I may have to invest in one, since I seem to be incapable of stopping the building and re-building of AR's

You're in ft fun, stop in as needed. I have some free time on my hands.

Kazoo, that reminds me, in addition to more minions, I need me some "free time on my hands". I'm still trying to catch up with everything they left for me while I was on vacation for almost two weeks. I KNOW y'all know what that's like.
Actually, I'll be in Greeley Monday, but after that job, I need to get back to Ft. Fun for a job, then down to Castle Rock, then who knows what.

I did spend some time inventorying my misc. AR parts stash. If I'm going to build another AR, I need to try to use up some of the leftovers from other builds/rebuilds. I'm a little bit hampered by starting out with a 14.5" barrel with .625" at the gas-block. I did finally give up on the YHM forearm that I have. It had a cut-out for a FSB, but I want to run a free-float forearm a lot closer to the flash-hider/suppressor. It's starting to look like an Alpha rail. It uses the standard barrel nut and I have a couple of those. I'm going to need a QD socket and something for a flip-up Magpul front BUIS, which I also have from past excursions into the re-build fun.

I tend to use the heck out my ARs, so I'm thinking a blem Aero Precision upper and lower. Stupid low prices and the one I have on one of my 3gun carbines is excellent. They called last week and wanted to know if I wanted to be a dealer for them, but my home-based FFL business isn't close to what they would expect in volume, so I immediately gave up on the idea of asking for dealer pricing.

The whole impetus for this build is that I took the YHM flash-hider/suppressor mounts off of my two 3gun rifles and put a Lantac Dragon comp on one and a Fortis RED on the other. I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't put one of MarkCO's Gas Hawgs on this one, and then I'd have to build ANOTHER AR. Those Gas Hawgs are just rad.

Yeah, seeing a pattern here...definitely, definitely seeing a pattern...
