We've been on the state and fed No Call lists since they were started. This was on my cell phone, BTW. I'd ditch the landline but we pay $75 month for DSL and the landline. If we ditch the landline the non-bundled DSL price goes up to $79 month. Go figure. And we don't have options living where we do other than sat internet. And that isn't an option.

Don't wanna get shot by the police?
"Stop Resisting Arrest!"
Call your carrier. Ask to speak with someone in security or someone responsible for fraud investigations. Let them know that you received a death threat and the number it came from. They MAY (no guarantee) look into the originating number to see if it is traceable or listed with other complaints. When the carrier has enough complaints from enough customers OR a complaint from one of their special customers, i.e. Governor, Senator, President, etc... the carrier will actually contact someone in LE to assist them in tracking down the responsible party.
Even criminals overseas can be targeted by LE. The news today had a story about a large TOR related investigation resulting in arrests in several different countries whose investigative agencies were cooperating in identifying operators and taking down servers. It doesn't happen often because of the nature of the types of investigations, but it can happen under the right circumstances.
The caller was probably making the call trough stolen services, which is just one additional crime but one which the carriers actually seem to take seriously. Stolen service is a loss of revenue to telecommunications providers.
Be safe.
Maybe I'll try that. Thanks.

I usually take calls like that and put them in my contact list with a special ringer... silent.
but what you described would be way over the line, and I'd contact cell carrier and LE to investigate death threats...
BTW, your location still shows "The Suburbs of Bailey"- are you still there?
