I carry the PT2, same bezel design, and the court house here in downtown Springs wouldn't let me through with it... The guy said that he didn't see a problem with it, but it was "policy": if it has *any* kind of bezel at all, it's not going into the courthouse...

That's kind of silly for their policy that they let you on with it with a warning. Either it's forbidden, or it's not. (and no, I'm not saying it should be forbidden, that's ridiculous... I fly with a surefire E2D defender and have yet to have a problem, knock on wood) I'd rather someone come at me with a crenelated flashlight than with a ballpoint pen or thin & stabbirific metal mechanical pencil.

    Op's light is not scary.

I carry a cheap Coleman for work travel. Not sexy/tactical one bit but I also wouldn't care if it got lost/stolen.

To speak to those inconsistencies mentioned earlier: I just traveled through Las Vegas on May 4th through the 7th and carried a Fenix PD32 UE on my person and nobody missed a beat. Looks to have a nearly identical bezel to your make/model. So it's not just varying TSA from airport to airport but variances from day to day and hour to hour even at the exact same airport.

Ask for a receipt. Tell them it belongs to your company and you need some kind of documentation showing what happened to it. They don't have these forms, so they get bent out of shape. Stick to your guns and most of the time they will give it back to you and tell you to not do that again.

*Sigh*.... I remember flying with a 2.5 inch Spyderco in my pocket all through the 80s and 90s, 2 or 3 times a week. Nobody said a word.

I think this is may favorite of all of the rediclousness over flashlights and tiny knives.

Scissors - metal with pointed tips and blades shorter than 4 inches are allowed, but blades longer than 4 inches are prohibited

Both of these fit on a key ring. But are not allowed because of the blade.

    I had this confiscated.

And almost this one too. I took it back to my vehicle.

I remember the days when people would bring rifles in cases on to airplanes in the 60s and maybe into the early 70s. We flew out of Houston a lot when I was a kid and it was a common sight to see someone hand a rifle case to a "stewardess" for storage in the cabin.
