Deaths are not caused by Taser Use. A supreme court decision made Taser International pay out in a lawsuit because the court said that Taser was PARTLY due to the death and Taser has taken that decision to the next highest court because they disagree
Taser is extremely safe and CAN be used on the elderly (Not that anyone would, hopefully).
Death usually occurs because of the amount of drugs someone has in their system or another issue that law enforcement is unaware of or can not control or both
I've only heard of death from heart attacks, and the guy who fell like 12 feet directly onto his head.
"There are no finger prints under water."
No, no, no.
I'm not trying to get all soft on you guys, but a kid being stupid and running out on a field is NOT, in my opinion, justification for a taser unless he got violent.
Just grab the kid and drag him off.
Tasers kill people often enough. they shouldn't be used unless the offender is a danger to himself or others.
Take my little brother for example.
he has a heart condition, mitral valve prolapse.
A taser could EASILY send him into cardiac arrest.
And before someone says "Well then he should know better blah blah blah"
He wasn't diagnosed until he was near 19 years old, and had done more than his fair share of stupid things.
Luckily no cop ever tased him.
Why?
He was never dangerous, he was just being an idiot kid.
Tasers are a LESS-LETHAL weapon, not a NON-LETHAL.
