Don't get me started with the new emissions... it relies on the emissions sensors in the vehicles.. so if there is a garage queen that barely gets driven (like my bosses old ferrari) even if it passes them running the smog test, but fails the obd emissions.. because they don't run constantly.. (when cali started this way of it there were massive problems but they had a solution, unlike CO) I literally had to drive around in the car for 30 min a day for over a week to get all of them to trigger.. it passed as soon as i put like 250m..

Car companies actually have a 'guide' to force the on boards to run... it's pretty much brain surgery and needs a track to accomplish it..

basically it was drive for 10 miles at 30mph in 2nd gear at 3k rpm.. then repeat for other speeds... w/o stopping. I tried it on the highways and everything and could never accomplish it w/o coming to a stop... finally after like 200+ miles I went back in and it worked.. even the emissions guys were like it's bs..

cali has a thing for garage queens that get less than 1k miles a year where they'll waive it.. CO did not adopt that.

One time I took it there and the xterra was swarmed by every tech. All looking at the engine a front wheel wells. I thought something was wrong, so i went out and they said since they could see all the cats and sensors, they wanred to show the newer hires what they looked like.

But these tests are a joke anyway. 99.x% of vehicles pass. But the silly EPA won't let Denver metro stop since we exceed level too many time per year. But they won't tell you a lot blows in from the west and no amount of emissions control on the front range will help.
You don't need to keep smaller tires anymore. Just have to go to Ken Caryl, Sheridan, or Fort Collins location.

But the Colorado c470 location is less than 5 min. I have a pair of 33s on another set of wheels. Looks funny but the time to swap wheels and get tested is shorter than driving elsewhere

I hated having to watch some high school dropout with almost a year and a half of driving experience trying to run a vehicle on a dyno.

I hate those fucking places with enough passion to plan their explosive demise one by one. Working on fleet vehicles for a living forces folks like us to have to experience that horse shit far more often than the regular vehicle owners do. Try getting your emissions done after your car comes out of the body shop from front end damage, and they didn't get the emissions sticker moved to your new hood. Getting those stickers from a factory/dealership is a PITA. Fortunately we could switch hoods in that particular case and get the sticker at a later point. If you see a large and tall mongoloid looking lady at the Havana location running the lane you're heading into, just walk away.....leave and find another location. You will be treated like you pissed off the Soup Nazi, and there's no soup for you from the get go.

I witnessed the dumbest bitch in the world test our old '73 ford stick shift plow truck.....the series of basic vehicle operation were not possessed in any capacity.

I could go on, but I know we all feel the same pain from these seemingly ......randomly selected ape brain full blown retards get into our stuff, and we have to put up with it. Actually, I'm kinda surprised there's been no mag dumps at an AIR Care facility as of yet as far as I know.

I've been dreading my emissions test. Had my pickup in the shop this spring and my idiot light has been on ever since so I've been anticipating having to dump more money into it. My wife got the registration renewal card the other day and it said my pickup had passed the roadside test. Dodged a bullet this year.
There's a fine line between cuddling and holding someone down so they can't get away.

    DenverGP,
yes the codes indicating a lean condition, among other things. Can't find the papers right now.

    TRnCO,
I admit that is possible, but I find it hard to believe that after 2 years of the new law NO ONE has gone back into these places to tell them.
Especially after spending hundreds of $$ then finding out they didn't need to.
I plan on stopping in and talking with them. Just to see what they say. I am not pissed at them, like I said, business is business.
