Saw it again...still love it
USAF - 1989-2011
See I grew up with the OT- granted I was born in the 80's and fell in love with the series AFTER they had already been on VHS for a number of years. I excitedly went to go see the "Special Edition" when they re-released it in theaters, and felt that was just meh, fixing something that really wasn't broken. I disliked the prequels immensely and thought perhaps Lucas hadn't aged well with his directing and writing skills. But then, someone pointed out some of the instances where Lucas' writing in the OT is actually pretty awful. He's great at creating, but is horrible with dialog.
As far as the newer movies- I'll say I enjoyed them, for the simple fact that it's taking a franchise into a new generation of writers/directors. The problem I have is how Abrams handled "The Force Awakens." I understand what he was doing- paying homage to "A New Hope"- but it teetered into replowing old ground and was basically a remake with some classic characters thrown in. It really didn't work very well, but was still somewhat enjoyable. As far as the latest, after some processing and thinking on it more, I can't really criticize too harshly, as it was a very decent movie. Granted, I'm a purist and thought that re-doing the OT was a terrible idea- even if it was "finally the film I wanted to make originally" (Direct quote from Lucas) with the technology to get the things he really wanted back in the 70's. These new films are just new directors doing the film they want to make within the universe so many of us grew up with and love. I can't fault them too much for that, but I can state my displeasure with some of the directions and aspects I didn't agree with. Yes, the damage done to the character of Luke Skywalker was atrocious, but didn't ruin the movie for me. I do like the character of Rey, I do like the conflict for Finn, and now we're seeing the full arc for Kylo Ren starting to really develop. I'm excited for where the final film goes, and hope that the future of the franchise continues to entertain. Now if they'll just make a Boba Fett film, I'll be happy. I'm really excited for May when they release the Han Solo origin film.

Went and watched it with the family last night. I actually thought it was pretty well done and enjoyed it. Definitely better than “the Force Awakens”. Kylo is still a weak substitute for Vader but overall the film kept me entertained. I’m actually looking forward to seeing how everything wraps up in the next movie.
I also heard there will be more Star Wars movies in the future that won’t tie in to the whole Luke Skywalker story line. I’ll be curious to see how those turn out.
Probably be seeing quite a few movies with the family in 2018. Lots of superhero movies coming out and curiosity to see what they do with the Han Solo story. I also agree with a previous poster that a Boba Fett movie could likely make for a cool story someday.

For legal reasons, that's a joke.

Just saw it. I liked The Greatest Showman much more than The Last Jedi.
Wow you guys are making it hard to justify seeing this movie. We saw rogue one last year and i honestly didn't consider that movie to be enjoyable. I was epically underwhelmed by the force aweakens.
It sucked. Thats all I have to say about that.
