Thanks, I thought it was funny..
I just bought my neice a "bike". It's fun trying to kids balance... I actually cheated: We started with some martial arts and balance beams. As soon as she was on the bike she was trying to talk me into removing the training wheels cause "it doesn't let me have control" (and she's only 4!!) lol. Too bad her mom's a %$*((... but she's trying to change her ways so I can't fault her. Actually I can. She had the kid, gave hte kid up (to my wife-her sister) for 3 years and then shows up one day and just demands her back revoking the power of attorney, etc. Good thing we weren't married then or I would've gone through the roof. I'm still not too polite to her... I need to change my ways too....
Since we're doing comparisons

DAC is more popular today than anytime I can remeber.
Used to be when you listened to him people would ask What singer is that?
I used to ride a bicycle everywhere when I was a kid. Then, as an adult, I rode my bicycle to work for three years in my late 20's because I needed to lose some weight and riding is fun.
I agree that there are some cyclists who lack any kind of common sense. They will quote the law, "I have as much right to the road as a motorist", but they ignore the laws of physics. In an altercation between bicycle and automobile, the car wins every time. I found it dangerous and unnerving to ride on major or even secondary thoroughfares. I would always try to find a parallel route which would take me through residential neighborhoods or less busy streets. That way I wasn't putting myself in danger or pissing drivers off. I was always courteous and followed all the rules of the road.
Riding on the sidewalk IS illegal if you are an adult. Not just illegal, but dangerous as hell.
Did I have bad experiences with drivers? You bet. In fact, the last fistfight I got in was with some asshole who deliberately tried to run me off the road. He was yet another impotent twit who compensated for his lack of masculinity (read: small dick) with an F350. He wasn't so tough when I caught him at the next red light. I hope he had fun searching for his keys after I took them from him and threw them as far as I could.
I still occasionally ride my bicycle for fun and fitness. If a motorist attempts to run me off the road or throws an item at me, I consider this assault with a deadly weapon. I CCW specifically to avoid assault on me with deadly weapons. If you feel the need to be a fucking bully by using size and strength (your car) to intimidate someone smaller (the cyclist), be careful. Sometimes the little guy gets tired of being picked on and fights back.
I don't really care about cyclists not following the rules of the road, as long as they stay out of the way. I stop at red lights, and slow down for stop signs, but keep going. On the other hand, I also do everything I can to not obstruct traffic; so I doubt anyone would care. Well, if I'm riding ON the road, then I obey traffic laws for the most part.

Air cooled all the way, forget that water cooled stuff.
