Shockwave Slug Hunting

I wouldn’t say it’s a gray area. I don’t think it would fall under the category of “handgun” since it isn’t a handgun by definition.

Since most hunting regulations apply to handguns, rifles, or shotguns (none of which apply to the Shockwave) I’m guessing it would be a no-go.

Also, of all of the firearms I’d consider hunting with, something like the Shockwave would be way down at the bottom of the list.

I’d say just above pointy stick. Every year I get an elk, I make it more challenging with the firearm. Still WAY more humane than archery or 10mm...

My interpretation went like this:

It’s not a pistol, but it is a handgun as much as any of the +14” barreled rifle caliber* single shot ‘hunting pistols’ are.

Meets every other requirement of handgun listed in any Colorado hunting publication.
