I think the difference was that I was into comedy when Hedburg died, but was 11 when Hicks died. The first time I heard Bill Hicks was on that Tool song.

Ah, I was 26 when he died.

Gore's presidential bid in 2000 was sunk by the Clintons, not the Republicans.

    My most recent paranoid theory:

Donald Trump was deliberately elected by the socialist/progressive/democrat/whatevers with the sole intention of widening the divide between the 2 big parties, then driving moderate Republicans to the other side with ever more erratic and outrageous behavior, so that by the time 2020 rolls around, the Republicans are so weak that the Dems can field literally Karl Marx and get him/her/it elected, as well as take control of the House and Senate. As evidence, I present the numerous personnel changes, odd choices for cabinet posts, pointless trade wars, deliberate antagonization of other world leaders (friends and foes alike). I know President Trump is NOT an idiot, as one does not successfully run businesses by being an idiot, but a complicit media is doing a very good job of portraying him as such.
I said this before the election and a lot of forum members agreed

Trix really are for kids. Don't believe me? Go buy a box and try to eat them. MSM was right about this one...

Here's one i stated before leaving CO. Which to date no one has disagreed, more so everyone has said. I believe that

Californians are not leaving CA because of the taxes, illegals and overall shitty state. They are relocating to mostly red states as part of a larger plan (think the original Communist 5 yr plan) so they can turn places like CO, ID, AZ, OK, TX, ND, SD and WY blue. Financed by deep pocket flag burners like Pat Stryker, Tim Gill, Bezos etc.

Like a horde of Locust they move in, fuck everything up, destroying the economy, increasing taxes and social programs. Then move on to the next town.

They leave because their mindset caused change to an unsustainable level, so they go somewhere else and try to make it like what they were familiar with...repeat.

I think this is more related to human nature.
