I remember after sandy hook there was over 14000 applications, I had to wait 2 weeks to get approved, now there's 7000.

If the latter can the buyer just go in with the gun info so the seller doesn't have to make 2 trips?
Pretty sure they take it and log into their books before they run the background on the buyer. So they would hang on to it. But you would have to ask the FFL you are looking to use.

Submitted roughly at 1:30p Monday, still waiting-or at least no call back from the shop.

Apologies, I originally said I submitted Saturday

I'll leave it to you to decide if the pawnshop straight up lied to you or not.

Just remember CTD when it comes to future purchases. They've done this repeatedly.

I learned my lesson in 2014/2015 with CTD, I haven't darkened their door step since.

Maybe he just misunderstood what was told to him. I can't believe he would outright lie to me, but who know's.

Went and bought a pistol at my LGS last night, CBI is running and it's business as usual (except for the delay).
Waiting in que was around 6,300 when I did my paperwork.

I was at Noah's yesterday and they told me they have smashed their record for Black Friday sales. My understanding is that CBI only has 72 hours to run the background then you can pick up the weapon, or has that changed?
