Yeah, makes you feel like you're buying it all over again. For the same truck you already have!

    You guys must be rich.

I?ve never paid more than about $450 for plates.

It does ruffle my feathers when it costs that much for motorcycle plates though.

I have yet to pay more than $20K for a vehicle so maybe that?s why I don?t see the huge numbers some of you do.

Now I?m a little scared of buying the wife something new.

    My truck cost $7700.
I got boned on the sales tax because I didnt buy from a dealer that was responsible for including that in the sale.
My $21k truck I got from a dealer was around $500 to register.

That?s pretty much what I?m used to seeing.

When I hear people paying $1K+ for plates I always assume they must have spent $50K or more on a vehicle.

I?ve been seriously considering upgrading my wife to something nice and will probably end up spending around $40K.

I think it also depends on the age of the vehicle.

Brand new 1 ton diesel trucks are not cheap.

Fortunately, the state only assess it at the base MSRP, not the +20K for the trim level. But they sure do make up for it with this annual ownership tax. Complete BS. EVERY. FUCKING. YEAR.

I swore to myself I was going to keep my old truck until I died and would never buy another new vehicle, yet here I am.
    My Feedback
Credit TFOGGER : Liberals only want things to be "fair and just" if it benefits them.
Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."

My guess is if you spend 40k for a vehicle your tags will be around a 1000$. When we bought our 2017 toyota seinna tags were 815$. I have a 2019 kia sportage and tags were 420$. Stright robbery
    Don't be stupid!!!!!
