before I left for work, a very irate parent was yelling at the reporter Shaul Turner (i think) and was very pissed that the school hadn't notified of the dangerous situation. They will use the notification system for school meetings, homework reminders etc, but not for when there is a dangerous situation. (idiot) obviously. Wish I could have gotten a picture of this lady, scary.

I talked with the principles this morning, some parents I guess are keeping their kids home and asking if the school is "Safe". Well, yes, it is safe. Situation was delt with and is over. Move along people.

Ask why the teacher was in the backpack. I want to know if it was a legit reason. People keeping their kids home from school must be ill informed about what happened.

    I know right?

I realize we're talking kindergartners here, who can hardly even wipe their own ass. If people wouldn't forget to ask important questions every time a gun was involved, we'd probably have a lot less stupid gun laws.

Which important questions are you referring to? The why the teacher was in the pack? Not really important. From 9News: "Police say the teacher was cleaning up at the end of the day and found the gun." Putting stuff in the backpack for the 4-YEAR OLD CHILD to take home?

Seriously, does this idiot have so many guns that he can't keep track of them? He says he had put it in the book bag temporarily, but then forgot to remove it.

We are required to get a license for everything: driving, marriage, employment (depending upon job), home improvement, CCW, etc. etc., but the one very important aspect of our lives, the most important one I believe, we don't require a DAMN license to reproduce. We allow any and all idiots to reproduce at will, to influence the next generation positively or negatively and we wonder why our society is becoming so f'ed up.

I've put my gun into our baby bag a time or two. I was damn certain to take it out though. I guess it's easier to keep track of all your gats when you only have one though....

people have been trained to fear guns.

A loaded gun in a backpack is not a dangerous situation. It's not going to jump out and start shooting.

A dangerous situation is what happens if the kid showing the gun off, or starts playing with it and pointing it at people.

If child endangerment is illegal then every single parent everywhere should be prosecuted every time they drive anywhere with their kids in the car.
