Hmmmm, if you hadn't mentioned the bank taking her house (because she doesn't own a house), I would have sworn you were talking about my room mate. She's a Vegan and EXACTLY how you describe. She has openly admitted to liking confrontation, and will go against the grain, just because, even if she's wrong. She is a horrible room mate, and a bleeding heart liberal. If the circumstances were different, we would move out just because of her. Rant off

I just want people to realize that the whole concept of veganism, and I believe vegitarianism as well, is a direct result from people living in excess. During the Great Depression and dust bowl, there was no such thing as a vegitarian, let alone a vegan.

On one episode of Penn & Teller's Bullshit!, they had a guy talking about PETA, and after reading their little motto, he stops and says something like, "This level of stupid, can only be achieved from having gone to college. You can't get this dumb unless you've been through higher education." At first I was a little insulted, since I had just graduated, but I really believe in the concept now. You have to achieve much higher than usual stupidity to even entertain the idea of becoming a vegan.

Of course I realize that in times of great need, people aren't gorging on steaks, but you eat what you can, when you can, even if it is a chicken.

We once asked her why she didn't consume things like milk or honey, things that those animals produced naturally. She said, "I don't like how those animals are treated. Those bees being crammed into such a small space." I swear to God that's what she said and it still baffles me. I guess it's no big deal for her to have three dogs locked up in her back yard all day long, but bees living in hives? Oh the huge manatee!

Oh yes, she also said that her kids get the choice, but she just tells them the facts. Which in reality translates to that they do NOT have a choice, and she just shows them PETA videos on youtube and stuff. I watched her kids for a while, and every day they'd come home and talk about how they didn't eat their lunch today. I'd ask them why, and they'd just shrug and tell me how hungry they were. You know what their lunch was EVERY day? PB&J, a juice box, and either pretzels or animal crackers. Every single day. Hell, I'd stop eating too.

One day I offered them both chocolate, and told them that it was milk chocolate. The little one declined, but the older one (7 and 8) said he'd try some. After eating a regular bite sized Hershey bar, he turned to me, eyes wide, and said, "Wow, this is actually good." I wanted to tell him, "No shit Sherlock, it's chocolate. The whole reason it exists is to taste good. Everyone in the world likes chocolate. Just because your mom doesn't want to eat animal products, doesn't mean that they don't taste good. So much for only getting the facts huh?" Of course, I couldn't say that because it is not my place to directly conflict the way some idiot lady wants to ruin, I mean raise, her kids. I did tell him, "Duh, of course chocolate tastes good. It is CANDY and candy tastes good."

Also, at 7 & 8, they each weigh less than my 3 year old. My 3 year old is currently off the chart on weight, but going in the right direction, and not enough for anyone to be concerned (even the doctors). This lady can't give blood because she doesn't have enough iron and is under weight herself.

There, I think that pretty much sums it up. Hope you're happy OneGuy, once I started, I couldn't stop.

Oh I know! I insured an Apiary once. With people like that, there is just no use arguing.

Idiots, not people who own apiaries.

All the stupid people are simply proof that life is waaaaaaaay too easy now. All these people are doing these things because they don't have to try to keep the natives from taking their hair, or go find, shoot, and clean some food, or have to cut firewood to try to keep from freezing. They don't have to cut sod or logs and build a house. Life got easy, and most people got stupid. Then they got TV, and the stupid got worse. And I think SA Friday hit the nail on the head. If the SHTF, people would die in droves because they couldn't suck it up and do what they need to. They'll wait for the govt. to come in and save them. Some will go victimize others, and it'll spiral out of control.

I'm sure a lot of these stupid people are technically very intelligent. However, if there's a disconnect between the intelligence and common sense, or if the common sense is missing, all the intelligence in the world isn't going to help. I once heard that "Common sense is an uncommon virtue", and I think that's one of the most accurate things I've ever heard.

But, stupid people definitely have the capacity to be entertaining.....

oh yeah, my brother in law eats gluten free and forces his children to as well. whenever I ask if they've had the blood test to see if they have celiacs they change the subject.

oh well, I doubt I'm the only one in the "my brother in law's an asshole" club.
