There are four states trying to change their State Constitutions to specifically make hunting/fishing a right. A lot of people were saying that it is hardly necessary to be a right, when you don't HAVE to hunt to stay alive. PETA especially was saying stuff like, "What's next? Tanning is a right? Swimming?"

At first I was thinking the same thing, but then it occurred to me, if you don't have the option to hunt or fish, then you MUST go get your food at the grocery store. Everyone should have the opportunity to provide for themselves 100%, while living in society, as long as they follow the rules.

I was diagnosed with celiac after I had a colonoscopy. The ol' garden hose shoved up my tailpipe showed the signs I was feeling. Luckily, my reaction is pretty mild. I get irritable bowel syndrome, gas and loose stools when I eat pasta, heavy breads or drink beer. All things I like!

I guess it could be worse.

Sorry to hear that foxtrot and I don't mean for those who actually have it to be the target of my rant. I do have a problem with some new age healer telling my family they have it. When you blab on and on about it but have no paperwork or proof of any kind that you were ever actually tested, well meh. I think I have to also explain the folks in my family are the types that are so weak minded they would join some cult and jump off a bridge if the leader said so, so I take EVERYTHING they say with a grain of salt.

Default Topic 3: Teens hanging out at Wal-Mart at midnight.

Yep. Teens just go to walmart and hang out. Friday and Saturday nights mostly. They just come in, make messes, steal alcohol, play the free video games, steal other things, open up packages and eat/drink stuff and leave the wrappers there (stealing)...

HEY! Get the f out! This isn't an amusement park, and your parents should kick your asses for being out this late, stealing stuff, and making more work for those working at Walmart. It's friday night tonight and I have to work till 2200. I guarantee that I will have to deal with at least one set of teens tonight. The night crew have to deal with this all the time.

How can anyone possibly think it's cool to go to Walmart and hang out?

I took the niece and her stupid friend to Safeway once. I let them off the chain, then saw them running around the store chasing each other wearing only socks, knocking stuff over, and eating food and dropping wrappers. Needless to say (hopefully), I was fucking pissed. I yelled at them and marched them out of the store. They are 12 by the way. They didn't even need anything at the store, they just wanted to go outside. Kids are fucking dumb and I hate them.

I worked security for Southlands Mall part time for a while, and every Friday and Saturday night we'd have groups of teens shuttling back and forth between the Walmart and the big plaza in front of the movie theater, and up and down the main street. We saw some of them so often we knew them by name AND knew their parents by sight (after having some of them picked up multiple times) and all they'd do is hang around and bother the paying customers, and cause trouble. A lot of the parents that we would wind up contacting would get at least irritated that we didn't feel the need to parent their children for them. We'd catch them doing ALL manner of things, in all sorts of dark corners. Yes, ALL manner of things. It was pretty amusing, the look on their faces when we'd bust 'em in the act. But it begs the question, what kind of parents just let their kids run loose all the time, to be doing all those things at all hours? These are the same people that get on TV crying because something happened to their kid, and then they want to blame the police, or the mall, or whoever, when it does. I get that the kids just want to be out with their friends, but a parent can't be their kid's best friend (by letting them do whatever they want, whenever they want) and be an effective parent at the same time.

It seemed to me that these kids don't have (or want) a clue about the difference between what public and private is. They think if you can walk in to somewhere, it's public and they can do what they want. We'd explain to them that the mall was privately owned, and if they wanted to be there they had to act a certain way, period. Fortunately, we had an Aurora PD substation there and there was almost always at least one officer around to assist with the worst of them. The attitudes that some of these kids have is mindblowing.

And as discussed before, that's the problem today. Parents not raising their kids.

As far as the attitude comment all I can say is "Amen". You should spend a few hours "Observing" in your kids classroom someday.

    Default Topic 4: Mouth-breathers

From my LE and military training, I learned there are different levels of awareness one can be in depending on the circumstances. Level white was the most relaxed level and should only be used in a known secured location. Well, there are a butt load of people out there that think walmart is a secure location. Years ago, I started calling people who walk around in public oblivious of their surroundings 'mouth-breathers'. You know the type, eyes focused on one thing or nothing at all and walking around with their mouth wide open and not paying attention to a damn thing. They show up at walmart all the time. My favorite variety of this species is the 'stupid mouth-breather'. This is the person that's obviously in MB mode and arbitrarily walking around the store. You ask them if you can assist them (they obviously need it), and they ask you where the xxxxxx is located. You then point to the whole wall of xxxxxx right behind them, sometimes even right in front of them. They then go back to slack jawed and vacant mode.

Life can get heavy. I get this and stuff can cause an internal monolog of debate about what to do, but shopping at walmart isn't one of these burdens. That many people concentrated in one space should demand one's attention a little more than daydreaming on the couch. Hell, disregarding the safety aspect, common courtesy should require paying attention enough to be respectful of everyone else.
