The proposed law says "knowingly" so all you have to say is, "I didn't know that idiot was a congressman."
Except that
(1) They're pretty good at letting people know who and what they are at all times, and
(2) "Knowing" isn't always really "knowing" in the eyes of the law - at least not for you. They can use the arguement that a typical/reasonable person would have "known" - even if you didn't. Trust me, I've been snagged on this one before!
