    Default Colorado Springs store

We buy lots of fruit and veggies there.
The lunch counter has some great roast Pork and beans.
They used to have marinated chicken packages that were ready for the grill.
They take Credit Cards. And you don't have to speak Spanish.
Its a nice change from the Asian Market or the German Deli!

Rancho Liborio has good prices, keep an eye on their sale papers that come in the mail. From time to time, they have some REALLY cheap things. I've gone a couple times and found their produce to be on it's way out though, so be careful. If it's the beginning of the sale, you should be ok. Toward the end, nah.

well i swooped in there after class today. the one on colfax and havana is very clean and neat, albeit a little small and tight. whats the deal with their grocery carts that are 18x too big? the produce was insanely cheap, you just have to look it over well. i felt the peppers for firmness and same with tomatoes. onions are hard to go wrong on. fruit is somewhat hit and miss. i grabbed some kiwis, but again you really need to feel them because some are much too mushy. strawberries were on sale for $1.49/lb! so i looked those over and grabbed some. thats about half the cost at most places. they look fine. i appreciate that the store labels what is from the usa and what isn't, etc.

the meat was also pretty cheap. i got the chicken for 1.49/lb, but the only thing with it is it really needs to be trimmed up and cut up because the pieces are huge and have lots of unwanted extras on them. i probably cut off half a pound from a 5 lb group, which isn't a huge deal and still awesome savings. they had pork shoulder for 2.00/lb which isn't bad. probably the most impressive thing to me was the marinated meats at the counter. they were pretty dang cheap and looked good. i picked up some carne al pastor cut into pieces and marinated for like 2.50/lb which i thought was a pretty dang good deal. you can make a lot of pastor tacos for that. seafood was meh. i was looking to get some cheap salmon, which they have, but it doesn't look the best. im particular when it comes to fish since im not a huge fish person anyway. packaged goods are pretty expensive. i would never buy milk, cereals, etc from there because its just too expensive. but i live next to a target that has those things really cheap so its a win win. i ended up getting several bell peppers, a few kiwis, two lbs of strawberries, cilantro, whole wheat tortillas, 5lb chicken, 1.5lb pork shoulder, 1lb pastor, red onion, and yellow onion all for $20. id say thats a successful outing.

for the whole week all i need now is a box of cereal, some milk, cheese, apples, blueberries and yogurt, so im guessing the entire week of groceries for me and my wife will cost about $50. pretty good deal. even got to work on my spanish some. ill be back next week
