Dog whistles (or rather the accusation of their use) are the same Alynskite BS as accusing your enemies of being racists or sexists or homophobes ... or for that matter accusing them of being transsexuals.

The tactic is designed to marginalize and demonize your enemies so you don't have to actually engage in honest debate of the issues. Its the tactic of people that either know they would lose an honest fight, or don't care about an honest fight because they plan on murdering their enemies in death camps once they get enough power.

I don't think he's right on the gun issue at all. Anyone who supports a party that has at the heart of it's agenda infringing the 2A rights of citizens is not "right on gun issues". Regardless of how much he likes to shoot or how many guns he owns.
