I am with Big Wall, either dont have sex or get fixed. If you want kids one day put some of your baby batter in the freezer.

My suggestion would be the man gets a say if the life is to be terminated. My wife got pregnant, took all responsibility he prodded her to abort and she refused (he choose to never met the baby and she never asked for any help from him of any kind). Now that baby is my little girl and count myself lucky that my wife had such a staunch moral code. If the rights were 50/50 then he could possibly take legal action against her if she choose to keep the child.

    45+65=... lol

Oops- I fudged that one! Why did it take so long for someone to catch my typo?

I agree that maybe instead of making abortion illegal, you make it so that when a woman goes into the clinic to have the procedure done there needs to be 2 signatures on the consent form- her's and the father's, as much as can be determined. But in many cases I see that as impossible. Still, I would be mighty pissed if I didn't get a word in the decision.

As a single father of 2 boys this disgusts me and always has. Those boys are the best thing that ever happened to me, and the idea that if their mother wanted she could have just killed them with me having no say so (she would never had done that) is unbelievable. A child is every bit as much the mans as a woman's. If she doesnt want the responsibility, so be it, the father should have every opportunity to raise his child. Best overwhelming responsibility I ever took on.

And what really makes me heated about the issue- 99% of the time courts side with the mother, even if she's a drug addicted, prostitute and the father is a damn good man... I've seen it happen with some people I know and it's just sad. How should women have more of a right to children than men? Ok great, they carry for 9 mos, we don't have any fucking control over that aspect of life, so why should men be minimized in the equation? My parents got divorced when my brother and I were young, my dad moved out, that's the only reason we stayed with mom was because we wanted to live in the house not a condo- if mom moved out it would have been the exact same, we stay at the house with our individual bed rooms, not shared room. Either way, people assumed it was because the court sided with mom on custody- no it was equal custody, we would switch off weekends and a few weekdays. It's a man's world, but when it comes to kids, women have the advantage.

So true. Really the only reason I have my boys is because their mother is a good enough woman to realize that dad was more stable and would do a better job, she would have won in court and we both knew it, not because they would be better off with her but simply because of her gender. She is in the Navy now and see's them as often as she can, and we remain good friends. I will always love and respect her for not taking the boys and using them as a pawn as so many mothers I know do (including my own). Hell I dont even make her pay child support, just chip in on things like sports and school clothes ect. My boys are not a money maker or a way to garner sympathy, they are my most solemn responsibility and its my honor to be their father. I am just lucky I choose wisely (and got a little lucky) when I fathered children with her.

And if a woman doesn't want kids? That's what we're talking about here...what if the woman doesn't want kids...

There are many sure fire ways that she can prevent getting pregnant too. Abortion is not one of them... And it's not solely up to the man to make sure she doesn't get pregnant. She has equal responsibility for birth control.

    THIS!
But the thing I hate the most, when they do get pregnant- this was an actual conversation my friend had with his at the time girlfriend:
M: "You're pregnant? What do you suppose we do, raise it ourselves? I wouldn't mind being a father."
    W: Abortion
M: No, that's murder, if you don't want the kid we can give it up for adoption.
W: Yeah, but then I still have to carry the thing for 9 mos.
M: Millions are doing it every day, small sacrifice to avoid being a fucking murderer.
W: I am not in a good place in life right now to have a kid, nor be pregnant.
M: Fine, kill my child, you're the one that insisted we do it without a condom... bitch.

And thus I conclude that women will always fall back on the excuse that they have to carry for 9 mos... pretty flimsy- don't wanna have a kid then get your tubes tied.
