Default my how things have changed

so i was looking around colorado and thinking where did all this crap come from .when i was a kid there was no asmusement park downtown , no light rail , coors pavilion was called fiddlers green , the forney museum was where rei is , places like the tech center and broomfield were open prairie , mork form ork still lived in boulder , we had no baseball team , the broncos always went to the superbowl but never won , the peoples fair was at east high school and was not gay , the dreaded brown cloud was a topic on the news all the time and you could go in the hills without running into trash every 5 feet.
maybe some of you remember the way things were before colorado was over run by texans , new yorkers and those silly cali people .

Yes they have, some things are better (tech firms coming here which is good for me) and some things are worse (more litterers, a-holz, and liberals).

When i was a boy i learned to ride my dirt bike where Highlands Ranch is. We lived in Littleton and when we went south of County Line Rd. there was nothing but open range all the way to Castle Rock......which was waaayy out there in the sticks. It's really quite depressing sometimes.

Also seems like when i go hunting i do more picking up trash than i do anything else, so yeah i'm with ya.

well i'm from NY and i remember in the early 80's up till about16-17 years ago there was no litter on any roadway including 25
Denver at one time ended at cherry creek dam, i could drive over to the IH dealer on alameda from belleview and broadway in 20 minutes. At one time i could eat at Sambo's without it being politically incorrect. We use to shoot FA guns out at tower and I-70. There was a killer chinese place at the vfw hall in denver, the gothic was actually open for things besides concerts and the little chinese place just south of there served mega plates for cheap. El Tepehuan mexican joint on broadway just north of hampden (285) has good lunch deals. The rainbow theater on evans was a rocking place for concerts, saw the very last show before it was bulldozed down, which Warren Zevon did and rocked as usual.
I at one time commuted from littleton to ft collins before moving up north and you could eat anywhere in ft fun without someone staring at you. The eateries were always a mixed crowd of hippies, bikers, rednecks and college students. You could go from the north side of ft fun to loveland in 30 min or less. Now you are lucky to go from jefferson to harmony in 30 minutes
Where we moved to Windsor there were less than 6K people and 2 stop lights , now 10 lights from my house to 25 and it hovers somewhere around 21K!. You could also shoot 5 minutes E,W,N or south of town w/out anyone saying anything or calling the law.
Oh yeah at one time you had to jump through some hoops to get a CCW from the sheriff AND the display of your permit allowed you to by pass a Bg check when buying a gun. You could also do a casual transaction at any gun show w/out a BG check

Oh yeah, Aurora ended at quincy rd, smokey hill and tower were like wadsworth unpaved

We used to hunt pheasant along Cherry Creek through Parker. Try that now.
