Thanks for sharing the post from the m4carbine board. I especially like Vicker's quote about searching for the magic trigger. To paraphrase; "Don't"

A little polish here and there on a stock trigger will make things move nicely, but nothing can replace lots and lots of practice.

I have a Gen4 G22 and I shoot .40 and .357 SIG out of it through a Lone Wolf barrel. It goes boom every time I pull the trigger. It is bone stock and I don't have any complaints about it. It won't out shoot an STI race gun, but I wouldn't carry an STI everyday to the grocery store.

Some of the aftermarket parts for aGlock remind me of the number of 10/22 mods. Just like the 1911, the Glock, and the 10/22, all can be built completely from scratch with not a single stock manufacturer part. That alone means you have a classic gun.

    Be safe.

Sure thing, I found it particularly interesting....as am I finding posts about Gen 4 problems and I'm starting to think I bought the wrong gun without even having it in my hands...

so I'm seriously thinking fresh out the box I'm going to strip it down and see if it has any of the "common" problem makers of Gen 4's....and then I'll probably immediately get to detail stripping and polishing...leave the stock connector in for now...

And I'll just compare my two bone stock glock 19's to a polished and non-polished one....the beauty of buying 2 identical guns with 6 digits difference in serial number is like having two hands....does it look that way on the left.....nope....we got a problem.

Still researching and trying to learn what works and what doesnt, I can say this much right now, Not a chance in hell I'll ever do a NY1 set-up...naaaaaaaaaaaah aaaaaaaah

At 41% of the cost of the gun....you can try that out haha.

    $250 for a trigger...for a $575 gun.......wow

    https://www.glockworx.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=156277

Or maybe you got the cheaper but still expensive $150'ish one..

    Still....wow...

Same argument made for the HSP/GlockTriggers.com Skimmer trigger.........pay $159.99 for stock parts that got polished with some fancy "redesign" to eliminate pretravel...pass.

i paid $160. It's a whole different trigger though... all aluminum. No plastic. We'll see if it's worth it.

I like your style, I can't keep my fingers out of any toys I buy either.

I have the same setup in my Gen 2 and I'm very happy with it for the money I have invested. YMMV

    That is

Thanks for the feedback man. I thin I'll just do that...but I still have a lot of research to do.

Though I am a Haley fan... I cannot endorse the Haley skimmer... It does give a COMPLETELY different feel- agree with OP too much $$$$$.

the polish works wonders. It also self polishes in 1-2k rounds... Just grease it up, get some dirt and sand in it and run it.

I like the idea of the ghost rocket but haven't gone that route yet.

while comparing you may notice the gen4 is a different beast than the 2 and 3.
It has a bumpy take up. This feature has not gone away with break in of several thousand rounds and I notice it on every gen4 I have shot.
As for the 3.5 vs standard- standard is more crisp release. 3.5 adds length to take up and a creepy mushed break compared to the standard.

i am toying with a sick idea of only using the NY2 12lb. This way, I can learn to shoot it well, and nobody else will be able to shoot my gun effectively bad guys or NYPD... (Don't miss with your terrible triggers, 7rnd capacity, and horrible triani... I digress).

I still say stock glock is good to go, and when (if) you wear the parts out any armorer at a 'Glock days' will replace them for free- that wont happen with replacement spring kits

All I'm trying to do is get this Glock close to my M&P so I dont get surprised when changing my carry gun to my APEX'd out 3.5lbs Smith to my Glock.

Just want it down to a good 3-4lbs pull and a smooth action....

And I may or may not file off that stupid nub on the gen 4 trigger bars....of course I'd buy another trigger bar first and keep my OE has a back-up in case I had to send the gun to glock for other issues. But yea...seeing a lot of people doing that with Gen 4's.

Supposedly the bump is there to help align it with the safety plunger..
