It was the JBC who denied additional funding to the CBI to get additional people in there, thus causing them to have to pull other people off their existing jobs to help clear the queue. Whether the JBC was following instructions from someone else, who knows.

Too me it sounds like a lawsuit. CBI can't explain it or they will admit guilt/damages.

Oh I do blame CBI, the fed checks were going through just fine without any significant backlog while the local checks were flat failing to deliver.

I was in Florida last week for work and I heard a news report that November through January federal background check s were down nationally with the decline coming from a few southern states. They didn't mention any states that had increases. I thought it very interesting reporting. I went intoi a gunshop in Florida and it was just like in Denver. Mags for $60 and rifles priced toohigh.

Checks were down in January from December, which was the highest number in history.

What a coincidence. I just purchased a Stoeger Coach Gun at the Grand Junction Cabelas today. CBI took about 45 minutes. Some of that time may have been due to how busy the gun counter was though.

At least according to this news story, they were down the last quarter of 2012, which just doesn't jive with what we have seen and are seeing in Colorado, which is why I thought it was a strange story. I can't find the relevant facts on the FBI's website, so I can't verify what the story said. It was on the news that AM talk radio plays every top of the hour.
