Oh they are overfilled for sure. Between all the different forms there are something like 50,000 in the que. The big question is will they slow down or not. So far not but one thing it does is cuts off the 2 months it takes from mailing to pending. However if you make a mistake they don't sent a correction notice they just bump it out and to the back of the line you go.

Per an email ATF sent out to registered eforms users, they now have 15 examiners (up from a low of 8 last year), with 15 more personnel being cross trained, and 15 more examiners being hired in the immediate future. Further, the ATF has people working 7 days a week on authorized overtime to reduce the paper backlog.

There was a delay as previously my c3 had been allowed to place multiple serial #'s on one form if they were the same model. It was great in theory. Less paper. They wanted diff. Would have had them beginning of April minus a 3 week delay. They held the element till they got the single form 4s for the SDN6's. I'd have had them a week earlier but my schedule pretty much sucks to get there during business hours so I see him on Saturday mornings.

If you have not taken delivery of the item, refund is given. If you did a paper and decided to switch to an e-file, that would be considered a new application, as you're not resubmitting for correction. Being vague in your post doesn't help either.

I was under the assumption that once sent via paper, the tax would be non refundable, once again, I was not well informed ( my fault ) but, hopefully I can contact them tomorrow and cancel it for a return, and then submit as an e-form 1.

I moved to "SUBMITTED/IN PROGRESS" the same day I sent the pictures. 4 weeks to then get my E Stamp. As a weirdness on that one- I received the approval email at 9:16 pm last Sunday (Dec. 21).

For what it's worth- I get excellent pictures of the engraving on guns using a flatbed scanner.

I wasn't calling anyone out. FM1 doesn't garner immediate results. FMI results in immediate cell population.
And you need to specify mfg CODE, not mfg NAME (which is the default).

Go with 28" you can go smaller on the gun. Over the number submitted, without applying for (what ever it's called) possible problems.

Efile. Who does paper? ;).. Unless some ffl has a super smoking deal on an in stock suppressor or SBR, I don't foresee us doing anything else but Form 1's. The current dilemma is a 45 can, or sbr the DDLES Glock lower. These 1st world problems are killing me.

No. I was checking my account with e-files and noticed it was approved. Used the Ask the Experts to inquire why i was approved in e-file, but had not received an e-mail confirmation of approval. 4 hrs later they apologized said OOPS, must have slipped through the cracks.
Interesting i printed out the e-file site approval so i could make the suppressor with Documentation. it came out as a red stamp vs the blue one you receive via e-mail.

Well as you're browsing the Model / mfg names in the F1 section. Take a look or guess how many people have E-files for a BYO can. My first one was held in Draft status 24 hrs till it went to Submitted. At that time there were 1/2 dozen if that NON Commercial mfg's Now, who knows?

Yes it gets put in order of approval and generated 24/7 . It's the main reason i file after 10p.m any day but 12.01 a.m to 11:59 pm on wed. The least traffic flow time to do it is Fri-sun night. People are out socializing or in bed sunday for their monday work week .
Us serious gun owners have no social life. Take you to dinner, damn it woman don't you know i'm trying to e-file, again.

So . . . showing my noobness as this was my first. They don't send an email that it's approved? I logged into e-file site today to check it and it was shown as approved under e-files forms, had the stamp image on the PDF and was signed.

So, now what? Do they mail anything in hardcopy, or is that PDF it and I just download/print/file and that's it??? (Need to get the lower engraved . . . saw some recommendations on here and will get that done).

If the PDF is clean (no DRAFT or other watermark) that's your approved form. I could also send a note to "ask the experts" or call.

Sent the notification question to Ask the Experts . . . sounds like a notification IS supposed to be sent, but apparently failed. Glitch in the system, I guess. So, I'm officially . . . um . . . official.

I'm sitting at about 104 days on a forum 4, nothing yet. Looking at the tracker I think I'm about 2 weeks away? They are approving Form 4's from around the 9th-12th of March (checks cashed) time frame now. My check was cashed around the 24th.

Approval times are climbing weekly. Better get them in now. I have a couple more I just submitted that I sat on for a month or 2. Wish I would have done it earlier now. It's only going to get worse. With more "gun control" soon to come from the king and the possibility of the trust route being eliminated wait times are going to get longer.

filed a F1 for a 45 BYO can the 3rd. For some reason this one went to DRAFT status, while they verified my application. The last 2 took no more than 2 days after filed to go from Draft to SUBMITTED. This last one took 9 days before they moved it to Submitted / In Process.
Probably file 1 more [ROFL3] BYO can by end of month, if not in august.
