3 down 2 to go

SB197 Passed

Going on HB1224 now
HB1228 foregone conclusion since HB1229 passed and Dems never met a tax they didn't like.

The reason the democrats aren't speaking is because everytime they speak in favor of these bills they end up telling people to be victims, that criminals are honorable and they ultimately have no answers to the pointed questions about enforcement or efficacy. They've exhausted the "think of the children" line of responses and standing up there and not being able to respond to any questions will make them look like the idiots they are. If your logic is so threadbare that under superficial examination it falls apart, why would you stand in front of your peers and make a fool of yourself?

So a judge in NY is striking down Bloomberg's soda size limit ban:

"The loopholes in this rule effectively defeat the stated purpose of this rule," he wrote, complaining of "uneven enforcement even within a particular City block, much less the City as a whole."

That quote is completely applicable to what the Dems are trying to pass today. Is there hope a judge here can do the same to whatever passes today?

I get the idea to make documentation that there's nothing it can possibly do to combat their percieved problem, but IMO, Vote on it, if it passes it will light a fire and decimate the Dem's control of the House and Senate. If not, then we don't have to worry about it for the moment.

Heh, i just have very little hope for this ever being repealed if (when) this passes.
Repeals of stuff like this is near impossible; and I don't think a mag limit has ever been overturned.

This is why today was our chance.... unless we can somehow do a mind swap with Hickenlooper. which isn't going to happen.

The letter that just went out to every single House and Senate member! Will it do any good? No... the Democrats won't get it because their leadership has been urging them NOT to read emails or listen to their messages! I still had to say it though and it is 100% true!

My wife just came to me and asked "do you know how easy it is to change your political party affiliation in the state of Colorado?" It was much less a question and more of a statement. With the way the democrats have voted, handled this process, this package, and the constituents (yes, we've heard about the movement to ignore emails and messages, the corrupt threatening, extortion and bribing of our elected officials [sheriffs])... she has finally had enough. Congratulations on turning the heart of that little liberal from California! =) You have helped her see the light and she just filled out her paperwork to make the jump not from Democrat to Independent... but from Democrat to Republican! WOW! If you knew her... you would know that would be saying a lot! She is ashamed and embarrassed to be called a Democrat! I can only HOPE that many other women and Democrats in this state have been paying attention to the way the Democrats in the General Assembly have conducted themselves these past few weeks and will do the same to CHANGE their affiliation as well.

Having Bloomberg say he will fund your next run at election probably has you feeling pretty safe right now... but I think more people have been paying attention to this than you want to believe. I hope you find it was worth it. To not only put the lives of our citizens in danger with these unsafe bills (soon to be laws), but to put your political careers in danger as well... I guess if it doesn't take sheer stupidity it takes guts so congratulations either way!

We have taken the names of every single person who voted in favor of these bills (thank God for the roll vote). We (along with thousands of others) have made it our mission to work tirelessly and fight against your reelection and WE WILL FIGHT to get those rights back that you are trying to take away from us. When you are congratulating yourselves and patting yourselves on the back tonight for putting a target on CO citizens' backs... keep in the back of your mind that the celebration will be short lived because we will not give up. We will not allow you to strip us of our rights and liberties. As was said earlier today on the Senate floor... we would rather die in a free country/state, than live in one that is not!

-brobar (Independent)
-Mrs. brobar (ex Democrat)

It literally happened within minutes of the last vote. She came to me and said she has been researching how to change her party affiliation these past few days (I think Friday's testimony and the way the rape victims were treated was the straw that broke the camel's back) and she already filled out the paperwork. She is disgusted! I can only hope and pray that there are many others out there who were paying attention and feel the same way!!!

Those people don't CCW, we do; they aren't the ones who tackled a crazed gunman, it was a retired military officer that the sponsor of 1224 considers too insane to be allowed to buy a 30 round magazine, aided by a CCW holder.

Just posted this to Johnston's Facebook:

"I vote for saving eleven more lives" sounds much better than "I also voted to ensure that 5 more lives per reload would be lost in the interest of sounding reasonable". If saving lives is so important, why didn't you amend this bill back to 10, or even 5? The first fifteen lives aren't so important? I also admired your hubris in weakening the power of the sheepdogs to fight the wolves while praising their existence to protect you, the sheep.
