Holy crap guys. I haven't read all 32 pages of responses here. But I have done ONE and ONLY ONE "diet" that truly works long term. It's a low carb diet. Get away from bread, rice, pasta, dognuts, potatoes, almost anything "white". Carbs are what are killing most of us as far as weight.

And when I say "get away from" I don't mean totally. Just make them a small part of your diet. I'm down 50 lbs. My doc was impressed. Blood pressure down. I don't follow the "Atkins" thing at all, but after reading his book, I actually do it without realizing it. Pretty easy really. PM if anyone wants details.

    Day 8

    Starting Weight: 293.5
    Previous Weight: 282.7
    Current Weight: 282.2

My lady picked up a couple big bottles of Bolthouse and those were the majority of what I drank yesterday. I'm going to stick to the Mean Green from here on out and keep up my water intake. I'm not down about the slower loss but I'd like to maximize this whole juice fasting thing.

The more I go back and forth between fresh veggie & Bolthouse I think I'm coming to the conclusion that it doesn't really matter. I'm going to try to stick a little bit closer to the 80/20 veggie/fruit guideline and that will be from both fresh and store-bought. I also discovered the other day that I like the Naked Juice Mango flavor too so give it a try.

I think what most of us want to do is drop as much as we can as quickly and safely as possible, and then roll over to eating better. At least that's my plan. Changing to a healthy diet and only losing 1-2 lbs./week would only discourage me. I can suffer for a couple months if it'll give me a big headstart.

I hope you guys took "before" pictures to compare with your "after" shots. Would probably make a good post at some point for the non-believers. If not, take some now.

I've got plenty of fat pictures of me. I've been between 265 and 315 for about 8 years now. I've been able to cut 40lbs off with diet and exercise over a 2 month period a couple of times but put it right back on within 8 months.

I'm hoping that juicing can help me break that 265 barrier and then build the right habits. I've always known what to do, the will power has just never been there longer than 2 or 3 months.

This is the biggest regret I have because I was going to start a video blog on day 1 and update daily and put it all on YouTube. I put it off for a few days and before you knew it I was down quite a bit of weight. Not sure that doing it now will be as dramatic and as such I keep decided to just leave the old me in the past.

Same here. All of our vacation pictures and all the pictures of me for the past 8yrs or so are fat so if I wanted to see that I have plenty of reminders hanging on the wall. I still kinda wish I would have documented it better I guess.

That would have been cool. A picture says a thousand words. A blog of a guy shedding 60 lbs inspires a thousand people.

Yeah, that's kind of what got me going after all. I was all set to start doing YouTube videos but wasn't able to start right away and then I just kept feeling like it wouldn't have the same impact once I've already lost 20lbs.

I do good at the back side of cameras, but I try to stay away from the front side of 'em. And I really don't want any underwear side views out on the 'net. Moobs, ya know. Got some.

Best I can do for ya, and this was a couple years ago.
