If In-N-Out compares to Drifter's then I'll stick with Wendy's or Carl's or A&W for a quick inexpensive burger. I was NOT impressed with Drifter's in either taste or price.

Drifters actually came to be from the closing of Classics back in the day. Drifters sure is a great burger! I also must agree on CJ. I love the burgers for breakfast.

In-N-Out is vastly superior to Drifter's. Drifter's is really bland.

    Smashburger, FTW.

Several years back while out near Santa Monica, after hearing all of the hype, I tried In N Out; twice. I was left both times feeling the same way - okay, but nothing special.

I recognize that everyones tastes are a little different and what I find excellent someone else may find distasteful. This is why some of us can't imagine certain restaurants thriving.

Personally, I've been in both Smash Burger & Crave and just couldn't justify spending the money they wanted for a burger. While I've eaten at Red Robin several times, I think their burgers are just okay too - but I love their endless fries (yum). Here in Colo Spr, my favorite burgers come from Freddies & Drifters (very similar style burgers). I haven't had a burger from anyplace in a long time that I thought was worthy of saying "oh man, that was awesome!"

Agreed, not bad but way over priced.

God yes, their fries with ranch dressing (they make it with buttermilk ... mmm) and I liked their burgers a lot before they went through a couple of price hikes and then I decided it wasn't worth it (that and way too many children ... and I reflexively hate restaurants where they sing for people's birthdays).

Being originally from Wichita Kansas I was happy to see Freddies start popping up out here.

That said, the best burgers are at little mom & pop greasy spoons and dive bars ... always has been (unfortunately the worst burgers can be found in those kind of places too).

One day a few years back we went to the Red Robin off of Powers & N. Carefree. We were sitting in our booth when this booger-picking snot-nosed (literally) little kid came and stood next to us and just stared at my wife. After about 10 seconds of that my wife looked at the kid and said (in a not-so-nice tone) "Beat it kid". The kid went back to his table and tattled to momma who then gave us a dirty look. We returned it with an icy stare ready to jump her sh!t about controlling her kid if she said one thing to us. We still laugh about that.

Here's an article (2 years old) that discusses the Top 16 Fast Food Hamburger chains.

Yes, the word "TOP" is subjective. In the article "TOP" is defined as "Number of locations".

Personally, I was happy to see that White Castle made the list.
Maybe not THE best overall, but certainly THE BEST at 3:00AM, after hitting the bars, and when everyone else is closed.

I had it in Vegas. It's like an uprated McDonald's.

I'd rather Steak and Shake, at least it's an uprated McDonald's for the same cost.

One other suggestion is to try a place that just opened out in Glendale called Big Smoke Burger. The meat is good, the bun sucks.... but wait wait wait... its the only place I have found in Colorado that has poutine and does it right. That alone is worth the visit.
