    CVT transmissions are likely to be the future as far as I see. The perfect ratio for almost any situation. They just need to get them tough enough to handle some horsepower.

    That will be wet-clutch technology for the higher torque/power applications.

    Im a new jeep hater. I have a 97xj on 35s.

    That said, I gave them a chance and drove away in a diesel WK2. It gets better mileage than my 2013 ford fusion ecoboost did by 3-4mpg, has more comfort, a bit of off road capability which I need for work.

    31 mpg highway in a 6000# suv!!!
