This strain of Ebola is different for a number of reasons. It seems to have a longer incubation period (5-14 days from exposure to onset of symptoms), and it also seems to have a longer burn cycle. It also managed to get into population centers, rather than the rural nature of previous outbreaks.

I won't lie, this shit worries me. This has the potential to be a civilization ender.

There is another sickness (enterovirus) going around now that is acting not like what is expected of a "common bug". Kinda makes you wonder how easy it would be to just have someone get sick (who normally would strap some nails and explosives to themselves) and tour the world or US for as long as they would let him/her sneezing on anything and anything that gets close.

Heck he/she wouldn't even have to be that obvious. I recently went to a fund raiser at my kids' school where they charge you money to illegally show a movie. Made me realize that children have to be the most efficient bioweapons there are! I had the urgent need to decon myself before entyering my house.

Count on a 21 day incubation period. And in cold weather (winter), it lives a long time on surfaces!

Can't find the link right now, but one of the old school Russian defectors talked about this plan: human bio weapons who were infected with various "plagues" that would just walk across our porous borders. It's documented that Russia had (has) many bio weapons and were actively testing/creating them, "back in the day"...

This is what I think the whole lets send 3000 troops to Africa to "fight" Ebola crap is about. Democrats believe "soldier" and "Republican" are synonyms and intend to remove as many of them (and their families and neighbors) from the voting pool as possible.

even if this isn't the actual picture, I suspect it is representative of what actually happened

That looks like the apartment complex I have been seeing in reports. If that picture is true...that's scary. I thought we were prepared to contain this? Apparently they didn't even get into the apartment to dispose of contaminated material until late today. Which according to reports I read, is because the Texas Health Department took that long to find a company willing to do it.

The pictures of the decon crews going into schools (where the exposed kids that the government says AREN'T infected go) show crews wearing a lot more protective gear than this guy who is apparently cleaning up at the location of the infected patient zero USA.

Is this supposed to be after the complex was shut down and the apartment quarantined?
