]Ok, I guess we are going to get technical. The first G21 serial numbers begin in 1990, and the first generation Glocks were built between 1982-1989.
1982-1989 (First Generation)
. two pins (trigger pin, trigger mechanism housing pin)
. smooth (pebble finish) frame
1989-1997 (Second Generation)
. three pins (locking block pin, trigger pin, trigger mechanism housing pin)
. checkering on the front and back of the frame
. side pebble finished panels
1997- (Third Generation)
. three pins (locking block pin, trigger pin, trigger mechanism housing pin)
. finger grooves with checkering between finger grooves and back of the frame
. thumb recess
. forward equipment rail
