How old was he when he enlisted? Sorry, I haven't read the book.

Have not yet seen the movie but have read the book and have on Audio CD. From what I recall they mention twice in the book about conversations on sat phone during firefight, one with wife and another with father-in-law.

Yes true. The instance in the movie I'm talking about he is already engaged in a firefight and then basically puts his weapons down to call home.

Not how it went down in book. In the book the firefight broke out while he was on the phone and he put it down and forgot to hang up.

Yes, that happened earlier in the movie as well. I understand that this is probably no big deal, but it really makes Kyle look bad because most people don't and won't know the truth. Highly trained and most of the normally trained individuals would never put their mission or their team at risk to make an ill advised phone call.

No. It's the sense I get from most Hollywood things these days along with all of "us" being crazy in some way or another.

Thank goodness Michael Moore finally weighed in on this:

    Michael Moore @MMFlint
Follow My uncle killed by sniper in WW2. We were taught snipers were cowards. Will shoot u in the back. Snipers aren't heroes. And invaders r worse

He did some pretty good backpedaling on his comments later but he's still a pathetic man.
