That people identify themselves as different genders is an undeniable fact. However, recognizing that fact doesn't have to mean a change of curriculum. There is a different between a person's physical gender from birth, and how they feel inside. I think there are a lot more people who struggle with depression than who struggle with gender identity; but those two groups probably pretty heavily overlap. The point is that it's one thing to mention that some people identify as a different genders, but it doesn't need to be part of standard curriculum in high school. Just like with depression, if you want to learn more about it, go to college. We've had to deal with a kid in our daughter's class that decided one day to change genders. By "deal with" I mean that we were upset at first, then we did nothing and nothing has happened so far.
