Practiced Rimfire steel for next weekends world match. Everything ran good except the Federal 36 gr bulk I had recently stocked up on. It would not extract AT ALL. Not in the 41 smith or a 10/22. Now I've about three at bags of stuff that I guess will be fed through bolt guns.
anyone else seen this in federal lately?

Shot a match with a bunch of friends yesterday. I shot my Smith 929. Pretty happy with how everything went. Only one hick-up with my aiming ability yesterday on the classifier where I nicked a no shoot going too fast.
Afterwards I put about 20 rounds through my 416 Rigby. I had to get it sighted in after a scope change, Leupold 1-5 to a S&B 1-4 Short Dot. After getting it dialed, in I smacked a 12 inch plate at 300 yards a few times. I was/am amazed how accurate that thumper is. Pretty happy with the load (350 gn Barnes TTSX) and should be ready for elk season. And if I bump into a stray bull Elephant or Cape Buffalo, I will be ok.

Took my aka-spook built 6 Grendel to the range yesterday morning.
My goal was to test how Varget and Berger 105s would work at 600 yards.
18x36 plate. 5 shots in about 2 inches. For a bolt gun I would be happy. Out of a gas gun, I am beyond happy.

Oh man. This makes me so excite. Now to only learn to shoot at 600 yards...
You guys are really gaming the carbine division with the 6 Grendel![]()
Not a bad little cartridge, the 5 shot group ain't bad either.
If your post count is higher than your round count, you are a troll.
My MIL has been patiently waiting for me to take her out for some long range shooting. She did great. Lisened really well and picked it up fast. Winds were gusty, up to 15 mph, but she had more hits than misses. She had steel at 279, 555, 624, 774 and 1,000 yards. We worked our way out slowly and sure enough, 1st round impact at 774 and 1K. She loved it.
Wife did great to. Turns out she's left eye dominant. She had 4 for 5 at 1K.
Pic is of MIL.
