I don't really ... well that is to say there's dozens of guns I'd rather have before I'd expend resources toward a Garand (impending bans or not). And M1 Carbines are horrible ... there, I said it.

Now one of those cool Uberti 1873 carbines with a "Codymatic" action job ... that might be a nice ban proof gun.

Modern liberalism is based on the idea that reality is obligated to conform to one's beliefs because; "I have the right to believe whatever I want".

"Everything the State says is a lie, and everything it has it has stolen.

"Every time something really bad happens, people cry out for safety, and the government answers by taking rights away from good people."

Carbines are a hit at our family shoots. But they are mag fed and would fall under a function ban with a less-than-optimal round. They are great ranch/house guns but I wouldn't want one in the field. I have a Winchester and would love to pick up a second for cheap just can't believe current prices.

The M1 Garand is an excellent rifle! They can currently be found for $800-1,200 in decent shape. While semi-automatic, the internal magazine exempts it from currently proposed bans. They can be had in .30-06 (the Lord’s caliber) or .308/7.62MM. Both are highly effective and considerably more frightening to me than 5.56MM seeing the results.
I'm worried about a full semi-auto ban which would include my beloved M1. I'm torn right now between an A2Clone Ar or getting an M1 off the CMP when I get my interest free loan back from the IRS.

Everything I have read is focused on the function including detachable magazines. An M1 diversifies.

    Doesn’t mean it won’t happen.
