Good for Blackhawk, I hate the road biker fuckers in Boulder. they think they own the place and never follow any of the rules of the road. Boulder could make more money ticketing these fuck heads then the damn red lights cams could.

Agreed. I am SO against bicycles on public roadways. Their "I have the same rights to this road that you in cars do" attitude present more hazards to themselves and the motorists than they will ever admit.

The fact of the matter is you are going to have douchebags with anything, doesn't matter if your ridding a bike or trying to shoot at rampart range. I road bike and really enjoy it. I pick the roads I ride on carefully and stay as far right as humanly possible and follow all traffic rules as if I were in a car. So please don't throw your beer bottles at me or try running me off the road. Not everyone out there is a douche.

Seriously, it really does suck how stupid some of these peolpe are. I sometimes get scared ridding with other peolpe because of their poor decision making. There is something like 1000 miles of paved trails here in the metro area that I enjoy ridding, but sometime it's nice to stretch your legs and ride up lookout mountain.

Hmm. Perhaps you should start by going into the New User Sign In forum and starting an introduction thread. That would be the best way to get started on this site.

Additionally, you may wish to take some time to get familiar with this site and the way we interact. Almost completely, we respect each other and yet post with few inhibitions. This allows for an open, free excahnge of ideas and information. We've found that this works well for us.

This isn't the firing line, and a privately owned site as far as I know.
The mods are pretty good at their jobs and you are not one of them. They can handle it if they deem the post to be out of control. Opinions, even heated and vulgar, are still given their due here for the most part. I find it'e easier to weigh opinion when the communication is uninhibited by what's deemed politically correct.

I've lived the majority of my life in CO, and I have yet to find a reason to go to Blackhawk. This all rates about a 1 out of 10 on my give-a-crap scale.

I remember what Cripple Creek was like before gambling came in and I think it's lost the mystique it once had. My point is that I think gambling in CO has ruined some great quaint towns.

I guess I never really cared too much for who was riding what where, but I do get upset when I pay my tag fees and then have to crawl at 8 mph behind some biker who has a right to be there, but is riding on the road my taxes paid for so I could go faster then the mininum speed limit.

I think they should have to get a tag, pay for road use and get tickets for ubstructing traffic.

^^^This sums up my thoughts on this issue completely. In fact, I have a cyclist co-worker who has no issues getting into traffic (instead of using the perfectly clear 8 foot shoulder) out on Hwy 94. When I'm car #6 of 11 behind him driving @ 32mph in a 60 zone, I get a bit bitter. Chris, I use your argument to state my position all of the time.

I've also encountered this mentality on the road between Boulder & Lyons which has a bike lane. You get a couple (or more) riders side-by-side and inevitably, someone is swerving or flat out riding out in the motorist lane of travel. What's even better is when I get the rider passing another cyclist without even looking and they pull right out in front of me. UGH!

I watched a very comical incident while driving the highway from boulder to lyons one day:
4 bikers thought they owned the highway and even though they were doing 30MPH or so they were still holding up traffic. a VERY big RV was in front of me, trying to pass these bicyclists who were riding 4 across even though there is a very large bike lane.
the RV honked several times as he obviously didn't have the power to pass them quickly without causing an issue for oncoming traffic while in the wrong lane. he was flipped off by the 2 guys on the outside, which I am guessing pretty well pissed him off to the limit, so when he was able he got next to them and gently nudged all 4 of them off the road down the hill! I watched a couple of them eat shit and thought it was FUCKING HILARIOUS!!!! they truly did deserve it IMO.

While I don't condone that behavior, I certainly know I've been to that limit where I've WANTED to do that. My luck, someone would get seriously injured or killed - then I'd lose my gun rights.

I love putting along at speeds my speedo can't register, waiting for an area to make a clean, safe pass when the paved bike path is mere feet off of the road.
That is when I shift into a higher gear and let the Powerstroke smoke 'em out. They have to let the cloud clear so they can flip me off.

If they use the road, they should have to register/get tags etc and pay the fees like motorists. As far as the going below the minimum speed limit. I don't mind, I just settle behind them rubbing their tire with my bumper and laying on the horn... they move pretty quick after that.
