Hell my freshman year at Heritage in Littleton I built a copy of the Modena Rifle. Now you have a kindergarten kid that was suspended last year for bringing a Lego kit pistol.
Common sense is sorely lacking in the education system.
But this moron parent needs to have their ass removed for leaving a firearm where a child has unsupervised access.

We did that too. During Classics lessons our teacher took us all outside and we learned about the Battle of Thermopylae by defending the cricket field from Big School by using the tunnel as a choke point

No seriously, why was the teacher digging around in the kid's backpack?

It's their "right" since the student is in "their" classroom. There is no right of expected privacy once you're on school grounds. A Teacher has every "right" to go through your locker if they want too... "If you don't like it, take your kid to a different school." Which I would do, but all (99.99%)schools operate the same way.

Funny how everything now a days is a "right" isn't it?

Or... they were just trying to figure out who the backpack belonged to by looking at the contents for a name...

LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- Lakewood police, the Mayor, 95% of the CO Democratic party (aka Socialist party), Denver Mayor John Lickmypooper and Dear Leader Oba'Mao shrieked with joy, applauded and then proceeded to heap great praise on the parent of a Colorado kindergartner Wednesday after the child brought a pack of rubbers to school. Our Dear Leader was overheard in a phone call to Speaker 'Wretch' Pelosi stating; "Alas, our party's vision for sexual freedom for the children of America has taken root. We won with first-graders in MA earlier this year and now; under the leadership of our great Comrade Bennett we have a foot-hold in Colorado as well!" Wretch was believed to have responded with; "Oh Mao', I'm so pleased, the only thing that would have been more satisfying would have been the discovery of a gay porn magazine accompanying that pack of rubbers!"

Fortunately, a teacher was violating the child's right to privacy by leveraging the "because we can policy" and discovered the revered "ticklers" in a backpack at Molholm Elementary School on West 9th Avenue in Lakewood. One of the child's parents told police the parent had inadvertently left the rubbers in the child’s backpack. "Well, your absent-mindedness was a stroke of luck, eh!" chimed-in Lickmypooper with a broad smile.

Plans were underway to award the parent with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian award, given to those who make an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors, but Mao' quickly intervened and said; "Nah...fuck that...give that parent the Medal of Honor. I'm tired of that award being reserved for such a small segment of our population anyway!"
