I was expecting to have them in hand before Christmas, but I finally got my email this afternoon that the CMP received my order. I've only got 2 coming, fingers crossed they are okay. The timeline should be pretty quick now.

Mine shows up tomorrow! Was in line for a Field Grade, but switched to a Special Rack to get that fresh barrel and 3 months faster timeline. Got 200 rounds stocked for going out to the range. Best place to shoot 200 yard steel? I usually go to the keystone range but winter time isn't that fun up there, thought it'd be pretty true to the rifle, ha ha.

I know Chuck, he refinished all the metal on my Garand. Did an excellent job, parkerized the parts that were originally parkerized, and blued the parts that were originally blued. I think he can work on damn near anything, but specializes in US military small arms, M1903's in particular.

What was your total time from mailing application to it showing up? I put in for an Expert 308 last week. I was hoping for 2-3 months, but really have no idea.

The CMP Received my order on 8/9/21. I got my invoice number 1/28/22. I’ll let you know when they arrive.

    Experts are reportedly processing faster.

Experts seem to be going fast. I mailed my Field order in October but switched the order over a month ago, it shipped 3ish weeks later, then Fedex did its thing for a week with its "overnight" service. Maybe they mean they keep it overnight repeatedly? I got jokes.

It's here now though, a 9/44 receiver, and treating the stock. Going back and forth on how to treat the stock, but I did a first coat of linseed oil last night.

I got a tracking number today. Too early to see an estimated delivery date. But, odds are good I won't be home to sign for it.

Edit - Disregard. That tracking number was for a Powder Valley order, not the CMP. I jumped the gun a bit there.

    308 Expert Grade

    Mailed 1/25
    Received 1/27
    Confirmation Email 2/15
    Shipped 2/23
    Received 2/24

Nicer than expected. Very clean 1943 SA receiver. Wood stock actually has a little character. Will be a nice shooter to replace the collectable 30-06 I passed on to a friend.

Im debating on calling them at this point. Over a month since assigning me an order number now, no change in status. Anyone know what the expected timeline is from order # received to shipped for field grade rifles?

Can't hurt, but they seem to be slow to get stuff out that isn't the Experts, those are payroll rifles haha. My ammo order took 2 weeks after it pinged my card.
http://forums.thecmp.org/showthread....8081&page=1269 this shows some people going from E-store to ship in 5 days, so it wouldn't hurt to hit them up.

I emailed them and they responded in a day or so.
