As you can see, Ivan is really stoked about getting this class going!

Registration is easy, send an email to meanstreetstactical@hotmail.com. We ask for a $50 non refundable deposit and that locks your slot. That's it. Easy.

I think this class is going to be a hoot and super informative! I can tell you from personal experience training with Ivan, we have a lot of fun but run the guns HARD! Just the zeroing excersise is worth coming to the class. Really interesting.
Sounds pretty fun. Hope it won't be held against me that my AK came with a quad rail (I love it) but I have no qualms about getting it a bit dirty.

There are certain upgrades that really do make your AK better. A quad rail for a light is a good thing. There are certainly other ways to accessorize the rifle that don't add any value!

I'm a fan of the MI forend, its not any heavier than wood and their top covers can mount red dots and reflex sights to cowitness with the irons.

It also deals with the heat from the gas tube way better...the first time I took my Tantal out, my friend and I had the bakelite smoking. The aluminum forend barely gets hot to the touch. That being said I think a pair of gloves is a big requirement for the class.

Is there a "recommended gear" list somewhere? I thought I saw a # of round requirement, but I'm wondering about magazines and other things.

Will this class also teach handling an AK left handed? I am interested in the class, I just want some lefty instruction.

I see no disadvantages with running AK left handed, in fact you may even be more efficient with your gun than us right handed shooters. We can definitely work with you.

    See you at the range!

    Default Another top-notch class

I've taken MSTT Carbine Course and it was great. I've taken other carbine courses from other organizations and these guys are right on par. As soon as I can scrounge up enough $$$ for an AK, I plan on taking this course...most likely next year. Would love to take one of the new handgun modules next. Looking forward to getting the training, not looking forward to the drive though...wash-board roads suck! LOL

I also didn't see anywhere what the class hours actually are and if we need to pack our own lunch, etc.

You'll need to go real slow. I saw a BMW handle it though.

Aww Deus, if I go, I'll give you a ride thru the rough stuff. I'm sure there's a parking area nearby prior to the that. I know what you mean though. I used to go to quite a few classes in the country driving a Toyota Corolla.
