By the way- I have found the ultimate Kydex holster and mag pouch set for the M&P- or any others for the matter. Look up Comp-Tac on the internet. Superb stuff, fairly priced. Just got the competition set, holster plus double mag pouch. Could not be happier. We all know what it's like to try to find the right holster rig.

I saw it on the S&W website when I was checking if they made the 40c in tan. Just checked again and it's still there.

it's on their website, but not in their catalog:

    check pages 15-16, no .357sig

NM, Found it in their LE & Mil catalog- does that mean it's restricted sales?

Bobby, people can only see my mediocre results at the IDPA matches for so long before they go out and buy their own.

I've put quite a few rounds and/or owned most of the major manuf polymer pistols. Glock, I've had 4 I think. XD, I've owned one and never looked back. HKs, a few- including the P2000. Beyond the polymers.... 226- I've owned 4. 228- 1, CZ75- 1, Browning HP- 2, I could go on if you make me. The M&P 9mm Pro Series is superior to all I've shot.

The biggest reason I think people go with the M&P is comfort. It fits, and it fits well. If it doesn't fit, change out the backstrap and it will usually fit nicely after. More companies should make their guns adjustable to the shooter's hand. The more comfortable you are, the better you are going to shoot, it's not rocket science. As far as reliability goes, it is a good to great gun, not amazing or anything, but damn good. My 45 had only failed to feed a few times in a couple hundred rounds. I would trust it, and like I said, comfortable. Oh ya, and it has a tac rail. Did I mention easy to tear down and clean?

I bought my first Comp-Tac holster about 10 years ago. Where ya been???

But you're right, great company, great product and great service. Sign up for their newsletter, too.

Glock owned the LE handgun market for a long time and still has more than their share of it.

Smith & Wesson has a lot to offer in their guns that make them more desirable over a Glock to LE agencies:
    • You don't have to pull the trigger to disassemble the gun.
    • Interchangeable back-straps...though Glock offers this now, they were a little late to the party.
    • An American company that offers screamin' package discounts (gun & gear) to LE agencies.
They do have a long way to go to catch up with Glock on aftermarket support and accessories. But Glock's been in the combat Tupperware business a lot longer than S&W.

I still haven't decided if limiting their .45 caliber gun to 10 rounds (I know...they offer that abortion-looking hi-cap mag) was a smart idea or not. I guess in the long run it doesn't matter...it doesn't to me, anyway. But so many people are on the "capacity is king" band-wagon they may have missed the boat on that.

For most people, I don't think there's any question the M&P is more comfortable than the Glock. I own one Glock...a 19...and really like shooting it. I even carry it on occasion. Parts are plentiful and they're exceedingly easy to repair on the rare occasion they need repair. Pretty hard to argue with their track record. I've owned a couple of M&P pistols but I'm just not into polymer guns.

Like lots of others, I like the 1911.

    Thank God for diversity!
