The majority of Scientific breakthroughs that have happened throughout history were from Christians and individuals who believed in the Judeo-Christian God. Not to mention that, along with hospitals and caring for the poor, it was once again Christians who undertook education efforts around the world. Recent polls still show around half of the scientists in this country still claim a Christian faith of some sort.

Now the latter half of the 20th century unto the present where Christianity and Science have appeared to be at odds is the new phenomenon, and an attempt by those on the opposite side of religion to discredit these religious institutions by separating them from each other.

And all the while, here comes Islam, slipping through the cracks while so many people take it to Christianity. People will be begging for a Puritan era America if Islam is allowed to put roots down and gain a controlling faction in the government and cultural make-up of the U.S.

You put a fine point on what I was getting at. And women should be even more concerned.

In late August (the 26th) the Taliban beheaded 17 people for dancing at a co-ed party in Helmand province. On the first of this month they detonated a truck bomb in Wardak outside of COP Sayed Abad that killed some ANP and some civilians, destroyed civilian homes and seriously damaged a local mosque.

You don't have to look very far or very hard to find evidence against the whole "religion of peace" story. The treatment of women and children (eg - the weak) is one of the yardsticks I use to measure men. Muslim cultures tend to fall very, very short.

The other thing is the reproduction rate of Muslims vs the rest of the world. Like the Chinese what they cannot over run with force will be accomplished by sheer numbers.

Just think what the Chinese could do if they encouraged their citizens to freely reproduce

I think this is a bit too broad of a statement...
While there are quite a lot of contributions from "Christians and individuals who believed in the Judeo-Christian God", there are also a lot from non-Christians and non-Jews.

Point taken. Too broad of a stroke on my part.

The purpose of my post is to attempt to point out that religion and science are not inherently in opposition of each other. There are many brilliant scientific minds from all walks of life, and the pursuit of God has led to many scientific breakthroughs.

Knowledge is knowledge, and does not have a religious requirement. Nor is it anti-Religious/spiritual/faith/etc by any means.
