You must be aware that this is basically the libertarian party's platform, right? I don't understand why it doesn't have more traction.. Who doesn't want more liberty and a strong free market economy? Lots of people, apparantly...

While that is what the libertarian party believes, I feel that they are a bit too extreme and are lacking with a solid, feasible, logical foreign policy.

I don't write them off, in fact I see myself aligned more with them than I do with the GOP. I think the GOP could learn a lot from some kind of merge or something toward the L party... they'd sure win a lot more elections. Leave social issues to society, keep government issues on the forefront and that's how you'd ensure victory. The far right needs to abandon this idea that they can push their beliefs into everyone else's lives- you may not agree with gay marriage, abortion, whatever other social issue you want, but that's the beauty of a truly free nation. I'd really like to ask the religious right "What difference does it make in YOUR life if a woman who lives on the other side of the country has an abortion?"
