Sitting up penning wedding and bridal shower "Thank You" cards. I must have transposed the addresses on the envelopes of three to four cards in a row. What a frustration. Thank you for reading my post and sharing this special moment with us.

worked the night shift for the past week and now Im back to days and can't sleep [Bang]

If working nights is a recurring situation for you, pickup some melatonin.

I work nights, 4 nights on, twice per month. I sleep at work during the day. When I get home after a shift (usually around 730am), I go to sleep and wake up around 2-3pm. Then I stay up until 11pm, take a melatonin and hop in bed. The next day I am wide awake at 8am and back on a day schedule.

YEah. HPQ is now totally a different company under Meg. HPQ had odd M&As including Compaq, Palm, EDS, etc.
From Fiorina, Hurd, and Apotheker , HPQ really had no innovative ideas.

Meg is a great CEO, but I don't think even Meg can get the HPQ out of their @ss for a while.

hahaha.
I actually enjoy talking to obama supporters and bash them.

I have tons of liberturd friends who does not understand the tax system.
They hate capital gain taxes. I love 15% capital gains taxes.
WBush lowered it from 20% to 15% when we had 9/11 and accounting scandal afterwards. When NASDAQ when down to 1100ish, 5% cut of cap gain taxes got the economy and the wall st going.

THis is what liberturds do NOT understand.
We gotta think like rich people to have them diversify some investment to pay cap gain taxes PLUS consume more stuff to get economy going.
IF President raises cap gain taxes, rich will just simply not diversify as much.
They have enough cash reserve to support their lavishing life anyways.

WHEN TAX GETS LOWERED:
Have rich diversify more ,and pay more cap gain taxes
Have rich allocate more of their $$$ into consumption (of luxury goods) to pay more sales tax.
Have rich invest more to create capitals that equate to more jobs.
Have rich create more transaction of any sort to move the M2 and pay taxes.

laffy daffy curve (laffer curve).

Well, anything really between 7pm-2am.
I think I worked retail during holiday season, etail, janitorial, security, tutoring all sort of grades to under.

I use to sell new/used cars around late 90s to early 2001 for part time (mainly weekend) job, but I've heard it is 10x harder to find a part time sales associate for sales these days.

IF decent insurance (life, long term, health) companies hires part time ONLY guy, I might be interested. (no securities companies who carries insurance; conflict)

*=conflict of interest

it is the season for p/t work (retail ) but maybe you could try dispatch for a cab company or something like that . they always need late night crews . also glock21 sometimes need extra security hands (nite clubs i think) . or if you wrench on trucks blackfore79 might have a line on some p/t work .

i do know this 2 of my least favorite things are looking for a place to live followed by looking for work

I will try my best to stick with part time company I am with right now to see if they got other gigs at night. Worst comes worst, I will probably goto forum job posting and/or work holiday retails. hahaha

Checking in once again. Going on 20 hours that I've been up. Final exams suck!

Worst part, is that immediately after my exam, I had to drive home, get packed up and head to work. No celebratory beer. And all this time I've been at work, we've been blizzarded out. Haven't checked the snow accumulations yet, but my guess is tomorrow night will be lost as well.

I take that back. The snow was all wind-packed and frozen over. The sidewalks were cleared with a tractor this morning and were all pretty clear, despite the 60mph winds we got earlier. There is about 1" of ice on everything.

Sadly, the snow was not compactable, so snowballs wouldn't hold together. Oh well, still fun to get out there and shovel some snow (even if it was only a few minutes).

Tongiht and the last 3 nights were lost due to weather. The humidity is at 94.3%, dew point depression is 0.8degC, blowing snow everywhere, lots of ice on the telescope building rails (we could open because the skies are crystal clear, but the building could get stuck on ice and then we couldn't close). We're way past our closing conditions, so we stay closed.

Luckily, we can call it a night 2hrs before the normal time when we'd stop observing, and thats only 3.5hrs away now. Just have to stay entertained, otherwise the night drags on.

Not to mention, no one will arrest you if you kill zombies, killing debt collectors on the other hand...

My sister had some issues with a debt collector way back when, something with a cell phone company. They told her that because she moved to an area without network coverage, they would let her out of the contract without early termination fees. After she cancelled it, they tried charging her over $800 in early termination fees. She fought it like crazy and it ended up going to debt collectors. I kept getting harassed by them too, they'd call me saying they tried calling my sister's phone but the voicemail was "full". They asked me to give them other contact information for her. I always told them that she and I had a falling out and I don't know how to get ahold of her lol.

Thought it went away, but received a call from another one just a few months ago. They keep calling! So freaking annoying!

Pretty excited, I wound up with a larger tank and stuff, so now I'm free to go with the big cahone Peacock or anything in between. Actually got a free 6 foot long stand so I can actually do a second big tank or if I cant sell the stupid cube set that up as a 2nd tank for another small mantis, or maybe a coral frag tank if I get into that to pay for upkeep or dunno. (Though having fun trying to figure out how to plumb 3 tanks toghether as one water system, seems like adding 3rd makes you have to get 2 pumps with flow perfectly balanced.

Morale of the story, efff nights. Hated it, got used to it, having a kind of regression. I'm 27 and I actually grew a silver hair the other day. Wish I worked more like 8 to 4, could get home when it's still dark and sleep, getting off at 8 means I'm generally wide awake and need to be in bed by 2 or 3 for good sleep. (Aha good luck, generally more like 5 and 6)

Lately have had issues with sudden onset extreme exhaustion that cares not for how much caffeine I've had. Always fun walking down a hall looking like a drunk staggering.

I probably will find myself dozing a few minutes throughout the 13 hour shift... But the crew can usually think up some stupid shit to talk about to keep us awake.

I also cannot switch back and forth like some of the people who work with me to appease their significant-others. I work a Panama schedule and switching back and forth every 2 days would make me go insane. When I switch I switch.

When not compared to the original and judged as a stand alone movie, it was alright.

When the previews came out and they talked about the "Slow-Mo" drug I was afraid there was going to be an over usage of slow motion video. I was happy to see that wasn't the case.

Seriously though, I think I would love to work for NASA. I could also hate it too, I've heard there is too much red tape to get through to get anything done (from an engineering standpoint).

If I would have stayed at ERAU and finished my Double major in Comp Sci And Aerospace I might of worked for them full time. 9/11 made me change directions and get my BS in Applied Networking & Sys Admin from RIT instead. And after what has happened at the Cape I am rather glad I was not around for that mess. Working on the Shuttle doing heat tile replacement was fun in that you got to say you worked on the shuttle. And being a VIP at the night launches was a blast. Sucks that the STS is no more, Watching one lift off from the Saturn V building and seeing the shock wave travel across the water was amazing.

My parents own an Environmental Remediation company in the DC area and back when I was running the special projects I did get to be part of some cool things. NASA does some cool things, but the Military programs at Aberdeen proving grounds are way more fun. Got to work on a pilot project retrofitting the P3 spy planes with new engines and hardware. Since they use asbestos for fire/heat protection I got to be part of it. Also the Concord that is sitting on the Intrepid Air & Space museum is the one that we Decommissioned, so I have a few cool souvenirs from that plane.

But the best part of the family company was that we have the contracts with the Goverment, FBI & Police in the area to deal with the lead at the ranges in MD & VA. So knowing the range officers has led to alot of free ammo and range time. Have had alot of fun at Fort AP Hill in VA. Its almost enough reason to want to move back to the DC area, but then I think of the Traffic and reality sets back in.

BuffCyclist

Wow, I would have loved to see a shuttle launch. Had the opportunity to see it in May 2010, but couldn't afford the plane ticket and didn't want to put it (and the entire trip) on the credit card. Ironically enough, while I was house/dog sitting for my friends who were watching the launch, I got a call from the observatory and they asked me to fly down for an interview. Naturally, after being unemployed for 1yr after graduation, I whipped out the credit card, flew down and spent 3 days here. Was basically given the job as a day staff engineer and fiber optics technician before I left and started a month later. It was one of those things that I really regret not going to Florida for that launch, but had I gone to see the launch, there is no way I could have made it for the interview and would have lost out on this opportunity.

Moving from Denver to a small mountain town of 700 outside of a town of 30k was very hard. There was nothing to do (other than hiking, biking, shooting, etc) and no where to meet people, the only bar in either of the two towns is Chiles. But after a couple of months I decided to try Match.com to see if I could meet people that way, and lo and behold, I met my Fiancee. Most perfect woman I could ever imagine and everyday I am lucky to have found her.

Since I have all this free time now, and because I spent the first 2yrs at the observatory as an engineer (designing and drafting parts for the telescope or other site operations), I decided to go back and get another degree. Tuition is paid for, books are paid for, and since I'm taking classes, I get 1mo off per year for "professional development" that I can use to focus on class work. Sure, I'm only taking 2 classes per semester and it will still take me 4-5yrs to finish the Mech Engr classes and get the degree, it gives me more time to focus hard on each class I take and do much better than I could if I was going full time.

There is alot of truth in the doing better when not doing the full time student thing. While we were building our New offices and warehouse I was just taking a few classes in MD to fill up core requirements before I transferred to RIT and it was alot easier to ace the class then when taking a full corse load and still working. If I would have stayed at RIT for my Masters in Info Sec & Cryptology I was not going to go at it full tit again, but rather keep working for my Family and do the 1 or 2 classes per quarter so I could enjoy the program rather than hate it and wish it was over.

Way to interrupt our serious conversation, sheesh, some people... [Shake]

However, that guy does sound like such a whiny little bi***, I'm sure everyone there had a mental [fyou]goin' on.

I would be embarrassed to be that guy even before his ass got Tazed. Only thing better would be if someone had filmed it as well so you could see him getting tazed.

Aww, haha. Nope, we're working on taking a bunch of test exposures for a new instrument that is in the process of getting funding and being built. They're taking the test data now to ensure their theory is correct and they can actually get the science out of it, before they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on fiber optics for the various cartridges. Which means that we had to be very closely tied to the observing and I don't get to just queue up an hours worth of exposures and sit back.

About an hour to go and then bedtime!

Checkin' in again, wishing I had a beer!

Of course, it doesn't help that a co-worker and myself are talking about homebrewing...

Just finished sorting the m27 links. Paid for 5000 links received 4300. Maybe they thought no one would count them at that quantity. Did find 5 links for 308 mixed in as well.

Dang, thats a pretty big difference. Did they say approximately 5000? Have you weighed an individual one, calculated what 5000 should weigh and then weighed the whole batch? Going to complain and get money back or was it a FTF sale?

Have not weighed them as I don't have an accurate scale here right now that can handle that weight. It was for 5000 not an estimated 5k. I figured a 1 to 2% variation. so at 5k and 2% it would light or heavy 100 links, instead its short 14%. It was a deal thru anothe online forum out of state, so I PMed the person and will wait to hear back. At $40 per 1k + Shipping that basically is $30.

1:35am. I've been up since 5am yesterday for class. Thought I could do class and then get home in time to sleep for a few hours and still be fine for work tonight. I couldn't have been more wrong, I am about ready to go get some tape to hold open my eyelids.

Interestingly enough, I'm getting some good drafting done.

I'm with you. The difference is I was up late last night and got up at 5:30 for work. I'm still up but unlike you, I get to go off to bed. :) Good luck.

Yea, well with any luck I only have 4 more hours until I can head to bed. And my bed is only about 100ft away from my office so even if I sleep walk I'll be able to make it there.

yeahhhhh "mornings" when normal people get up to do business. The wife is saying if you don't get your ass up she's going to leave your ass for someone who does. HINT.
