IMO breaching the Capitol was a very small demonstration to our dear leaders that they aren't as safe in their crystal palaces as they think. A reminder that the People are still here and that the government only gives the appearance of being in control as long as the people allow it to.

I also think our dear leaders missed those points. They're that out of touch.

They are very lucky those people basically mobbed the Capitol in the heat of the moment and without plans to actually do anything more. Plenty of examples in history of the people taking over government buildings and not being so kind as to let the government officials leave.

I mentioned the Worcester Revolt in my earlier post. Something around 5,000 men showed up to pressure about 20 Tory officials to quit. One very interesting part of that situation is the 5,000 militiamen all decided to leave their long guns outside of town...they showed up unarmed to ensure things didn't get TOO out of control. The people in DC were unarmed too but still managed to put some pressure on the government without getting too out of control.

Only a few months after the Worcester Revolt, a shot was heard round the world. Things happen in stages. Who knows what our next stage will be but the people aren't happy and aren't likely to cool off anytime soon.

It's a sad day when there is no bigger man on both sides of the isle.

I wish we had Trey Gowdy or Ted Cruz in 2016 :/ I think things would truly be dramatically different right now.
While being the bigger man is important...how many times are we to allow them to run roughshod over us before being the bigger man has to become the man who steps up and does what is needed?

Default I broke my flip flop...

6,200 troops in Washington DC for the next 30 days. I was so hoping for a $2000 Economic Impact Payment. Florida is so nice this time of year, I wanted to go fishing. A rough day at the beach is way better, than a good day at work!

What makes the 7-ft fence around the Capitol "non scalable"??

I'm not particularly agile anymore and I'm certain I can scale a 7ft fence...

If the new border wall can be scaled, I'm certain the temporary 7' fence around the Capitol can be scaled. Click image for larger version.
