I've heard that, but I'll probably watch someday when I've got nothing else to do. I end up watching all kinds of stuff that isn't great.

Totally unrelated, I like The Repair Shop. It's a British repair show where people bring in old and broken stuff to be repaired. Kind of like the gentle British feel of the show, compared to the US shows where everything is a competition. Speaking of which, I've heard of a ton of people loving Forged in the Fire but I watched one episode and that was enough for me. I might have to give it a second chance some day.

Define "comedy" in todays triggered, pc, feels, world. Comedy is neither funny, or comedy.

There may be a chuckle or 2 in the mix. But, even the days of eddie murphy, kevin hart and Chappelle are long gone. Forget about an ADC, Rickles, or Carlin.

No they've been advertising it as the Final Season. For those who have watched, or started watching. IMO one of the reasons why, is in Episode 1.

Not yet, been watching Endeavor. A prequel to Inspector Morse, another brit cop show. Very slow out of the gate, when it finally picks up steam, it has you thinking. What's next?

But. british cop shows are an acquired taste, until one gets a general idea how they talk. Till then it's what did he / she say?

Line of Duty is one of them, you wonder what they said. Us folks in the colonies were always a bit behind the Realm ;)

We watched Inspector Morse at our house. I am a fan of the British crime dramas. More story less shootouts

Read all the Harry Bosch books and simply cannot watch the TV show now. Inspector Rebus books were good too, never watched the shows.

Lost captivated for a solid two seasons, then ran down for the rest of its run, but it was fresh (for the time ca. 2004-2010), and still had some knuckle biters from time to time if you were invested in the characters by then.

Evangeline Lilly quite enjoyable eye candy, and the whole Sawyer/Kate/Jack love triangle spiced things up a bit. Some solid performances. Way above average for network fare.

Don't get me wrong, you'll feel let down at the end, but invested and hopeful until then if you don't know the spoilers.

Agree it had a strong start and a lackluster finish. Evidently JJ Abrams poached the writing staff to shore up the storytelling on Alias.

Also, JJ Abrams is a one trick pony. Once you know about his "mystery box" formula for story telling, everything he does just seems boring and overly complex simply to string you along.

Agree. Mediocre action, trying to channel Tarantino all while washing it through the retro-80s magenta and purple image filters.

Much like Black Widow, it was a movie that was at least kind enough to keep the plot simple enough that I didn't have to look up from my phone in order to follow what was going on.

The Witcher, Nightmare of the Wolf was good if you liked the other Witcher series on Netflix. This one is animated.

By the way, apparently, the live action Witcher on Netflix is before The Witcher book series, so you can watch the Netflix, then pick up the book series where it starts. The live action Witcher was okay. I didn't know anything about it at all, but could tell that it was probably based on a book or comic book. I guess it's a pretty popular video game as well. Anyway, I've certainly seen worse adaptations from books into shows. This one was better than most, but not the best.

The boys and I binge watched "Daybreak" on Netflix, probably a bit juvenile for many on here, and a bit graphic for my kids, but we enjoyed it. Unfortunately they just completely cut the series off.

Just binged it, yes, fun and thought provoking. :)

Also watched seasons 4 and half of season 5 of The Wire. I had stalled out somewhere in season 3 due to a shocking episode which left me confused and disillusioned. Worth it to finish this series. Really good.

The Wire is one of the best shows out there, even in reruns.

IF you like the wire. Look for Homicide: Life on the Streets

I used subtitles, as I prefer to hear the original actors voices and inflections.

I do both. Interesting to see substituted censored words and read/hear the translation to Korean.

Started 'Squid Games". Half way through first episode. So far it sucks. Does it get better?

Yes. If you are only halfway through the first, you really have zero clue about what is going on. You have to watch the whole thing. The second one even more so.

Netflix, "Army of Thieves". Small group of young safe crackers go for series of historic safes, for money and thrills. Entertaining, well acted, silly in a few places, but overall a good story.

Not strictly in line with the thread but two movies in theatres:

"Dune". Special effects are good, easier to follow than original movie, this is 'Part-1'. All-star cast, overall good movie, a bit slow at times. As with any installment, leaves you hanging. ETA: I still don't understand how they conquer interstellar travel yet still fight with knives.

"No Time To Die", final installment of Daniel Craig as 007. Very good, well done. A bit clunky in plot development, a few questionable characters cast, but overall very good.

They fight with knives / sharp instruments, because any type of projectile, is stopped by their shields.

Think of their shields like it's kevlar.

Lasers cut through them like butter. Even fast moving projectiles would impart enough momentum to break their bones, like a kevlar vest. Blow darts would work. Sling shots. Energy beams.....

If you're talking about the original, edited version, you'll need to see "Apocalypse Now: Redux".

Just watched this last night with the misses (her idea).

Funny with enough action to not be classified as a comedy. Plenty of eye candy with Gal Gadot and others.

Ryan Reynolds character has the same foul-mouthed smart wit (not that it bothered me one bit) and moves as his Deadpool character.

Definitely pleased I watched this movie and highly recommend.

Watched the first 3 shows of Wheel of Time....odd show casting esp with the Aiel / Tinkers - sort of - well; too early in the series to tell.

I did remember one small part of the story that was modified - but my guess it was done for time versus anything else.
