Yeah. Many of these folks in favor of the bill have made a point to say that they are representing the citizens of Colorado...but that the folks who will speak later who are against the legislation are from the evil gun lobby.
However, each of these people speaking in support of gun control legislation is from some sort of coalition...which are apparently NOT a lobby groups.
The hypocrisy is insane.

I could be wrong, but I thought during the proponent section each speaker's name was shown on the live video. Not so during the opponent section...
So much for the proponent theory that all the opponents will be lobbyists. So far I counted only two lobbyists...the rest are simply civilians representing themselves. But you wouldn't know that by reading the text on the screen.
It's funny how the chairperson seems to take time to correct any misstatements by the opponent witness, but didn't do anything like that will the proponents of the bill. Makes it pretty clear where the chairperson stands.

Can I get a summary of what you guys saw.
Act I: Anti-gunners spouted and repeated ad nauseum fabricated statistics and biased polling numbers, then brought in numerous victims of tragedy (e.g. Columbine) to cry for the assembly and give unrelated, emotional testimony devoid of facts.
Act II: Pro-2A folks started with a lobbyist from the NRA who was well-spoken but missed a lot of opportunities to put the other side in its place, then moved on to several nervous folks who hadn't been paying attention and asked the same question over and over (e.g. "this bill means I can't hand someone a gun at the range and let them shoot it?!"). There was also a lawyer who talked way too long, but made some good points, and a few citizens who made some terrific points.
There were two legislators who were vehemently anti-gun, and two who were distinctly pro-gun.

From the comments I'm hearing...the decisions were already made. Nothing said today had much of an impact to the end result.

It is not a hurdle, it is essentially prohibition of private sales. FFLs will not do the transfers for $10!
Well, let's see. Will the 10 to 15 round amendment or Magpul's issue cluster the second bill?
Hickenlooper wants a Federal office...probably our best chance is to show him the light so he will not sign the bill. If it comes out of committee, it will probably pass both houses.
Look at how the last 2 elections have gone. He wants national office and him signing these gun control bills is a resume enhancer.

I think Magpul only employes 200 in Colorado (the rest are subs out of state) and I am sure the gun grabbers don't give a sh!t about those jobs. It's a lost cause in my opinion, they have already made up thre minds and have the numbers to do what they want.

I'm a little embarrassed that I have to explain this, but it goes to committee. If it make sit out of committee, it may go to another committee. After this it goes to the House floor for a vote. If it passes there, it goes to a Senate committee, then the Senate floor. Then the gov's desk.

So assuming the background check BS passes, how does that affect private sales? Everything would have to be run through a local gun dealer, pay for a background check, 4473 and.........? Will the shop be required to do anything more with the 4473 than they do now?
