Yeah but even at the same price or less I would rather have OpenSprinkler. I like the display and a few other features it has and it's open source so it's going to get even better than it is right now which (IMO) is better than the Irrigation Caddy. Either way network functionality on a sprinkler timer is killer. [Beer]

Well the two dimples in the white one were with a .308 so it's fairly hardened. The guy I bought them from was unsure exactly and said he has been shooting them with 45's for nearly a decade on his ranch. I am still trying to pin down exactly what I've got. I paid $300 for the lot.

I could help you break those in if you need any [Coffee]

The plan is to trailer them up to Pine in the next few weeks just to try them out. Shoot them with a few calibers just to see what I ended up with. I'll try to remember to hit you up when we finalize the departure!

I'm going to have to call Bubba Gumps in LODO to see what size their pilsner glasses are. Last year after day one of my daughters volleyball tourny, my self and a few other parents hits Gumps and I had 6 Yeti's...Needless to say at 9.5 perecnt alcohol, I had one hell of a time the next morning getting my ass up and over to the convention center...Damn good beer though, I'd do it again...

The wife is a rook and it's been a couple of decades since I fished so just ahead and label me the same. We just bought a little bit of gear and are going up to a buddy's cabin up near Red Feather for a weekend pretty soon and they've got private stocked lakes so I'm pretty stoked about that.

A quick Google search with that info returns exactly where it is. Not trying to be a dick but if it's something you care about I'm just trying to let you know it's not as secure w/o the city as you might think so you may want to edit/crop that photo if you care.

Did you get a PS90 too or just the mag?

Now that you're into the the 5.7 caliber are you need to get a Five-seveN pistol and a AR57 upper to complete the set. And definitely get a ten round mag too.

Yep, got the 90 also, thanks for the info on green mnt. I had been buying cheap 50rnd mags when I came across em, and I couldn't take it anymore... Had to buy the cow.

Can't wait to get it to the range... Dumb that I'm buying accessories and I haven't even shot it... No... Actually... That's usually how I do things

It's been remarkable and drives like a dream!

The manual transmission bearing went out on the first one, the dealer installed an OEM transmission for like $4.5k (including labor). The previous owner didn't drive it that much, and he cut me an amazing deal on it that was too good to pass up.

Took a gamble on the Bates Rat boots from lapolicegear.com. They're $39.99, but there is a 5% off coupon out there if you do a search for it.

The story, as far as I can tell, is that Bates had a contract with the USMC to supply these boots. One of the batches was complete junk (the d model). The other batches are just fine.

The Marines cancelled the contract somewhere along the line, and now there are a shitload of these boots out there, so they're selling cheap. It's a $300 boot, selling for $39. Here's the catch though: there's a chance you'll get the d model if you order, in which case they will fall apart rapidly. As far as I an tell, based on reviews from lapolicegear, it's about 1/15 chance.

I just got mine, been wearing them all evening, and I'm impressed. They're thick, but pretty light and very comfortable, and breaking in rapidly.I can tell they'll hold up forever. I did not get the d model fortunately. They fit true to size for me (11.5 r).

If you need a pair of boots, and feel like taking a gamble, this is a smoking deal. These are by far the nicest boots I've ever owned.

I also ordered those boots, and was unaware of the additional coupons. How do I know if I got the (d) model or not? I'm hoping they come in before rattlesnake hunting.

I'm a bit concerned that they would not be a $300 boot if the government wasn't paying for them; regardless of the canceled contract.

There's a number/code inside the boot. Whatever it ends with, that's the model. You just don't want the d.

Mine are awesome. I wore them for the past couple of days building a fence.

Interesting little gun. I hope they start making the "100% Life Kit" and other accessories available soon. I just emailed them about the "100% Life Kits". It will kinda suck to own a gun that is designed for a maximum 5000 round life. Especially a 22rimfire.

Is it really only designed for a max of 5000rds? Hmm, that makes me question it a bit more, but if I found one for $150, i'd probably pick it up very fast.

From the Manual-
The following components perform the greatest work load when using ZiP.™ Just like tires on your car, they need to be replaced after a certain amount of tread wear. The replacement of these basic components varies with use especially due to ammo selection,
care and maintenance, etc. To maintain ZiP™ operating at 100% simply follow the recommendations on cleaning and replace these components about every 2,500 - 5,000 rounds. Due to ammo some may find replacement necessary earlier, middle or later
The ZiP™ is a “tuned action” and especially the springs, etc, do not have an unlimited life.

Page 44 and 45
http://www.zipfactory.com/pdf/ZiPOperatorManual.pdf

The "100% Life Kit" is listed on their website as haveing all the parts that have the limited life. It's mainly all the springs and, get this, what I would call the bolt. They call it the "Recoil Body". They show a price of $15.99 for the kit. I plan to get 2 or 3 of the Life Kits if and when they become available. I'll see what responce I get from my email I just sent about the availablity.

.

BuffCyclist
07-08-2013, 22:39
Yea, I just looked more into it and sure enough. Looks like its mostly springs. There's no price on it, but I would think it'd be around $15. Or at least I'd hope it'd be that price, any more and its a little silly to buy that gun over another that can shoot 5k rounds. Granted, thats still quite a lot of ammo to be shot through it.

Did you get the good ones?
Yes, I believe I did. Thanks for reminding me. I didn't see a "D" any where in the code. They are pretty stiff. I'm going to wear them to work tomorrow to try and break them in some more. I looked up how to speedlace or whatever it is called, and am pretty impressed with how well that is working so far.

Finally came in huh?

I sold some crap to get a new rifle. I saw one NIB (no rounds, except for test fire) at a LGS and had to have it.

The other one is still on the way...... (evil laugh)
