Rimfire trainer to go with my .308 and for Mrs bo to shoot. She is not a fan of the 308 recoil.
Waiting for rings and bipod to arrive then start to work(spend more money) on making them quiet.

Yesterday’s purchase
Two new purchases actually.
First is a set of CutCo knives for the kitchen. Holy moly these things are REALLY sharp.
Second is a new AR I decided to build. All Aero Precision with a few Magpul Accessories. Eventually it will get a Trijicon MRO on top of it.

Got my cans in today. Unfortunately my garage is so cluttered I have no clean area for decent photos. Little one is a Bowers Bitty. Big one is an OSS Helix QD 7.62. Can't wait to try them out.

Well merry Christmas to you. Nice.
The Bitty is only like a 1/16" of an inch too wide to fit inside the OSS where the muzzle break goes. I got all excited about compact storage.

What is the rifle in first pic?
It's just a 10/22 with a Tac Sol lightweight, threaded barrel, and a Blackhawk lightweight stock. It's stupid light.

Yes. Whatever the off-road, but street legal, version is called. I recently got that and want to get it running. Here's where I was talking about it: https://www.ar-15.co/threads/124621-What-motorcycle(s)-do-you-ride?p=2244077&viewfull=1#post2244077

Tis the season I guess. 4 new Michelin Latitude Tour tires for my chevy Equinox. They were the OEM tire, and first tire I've ever had that made it to 60k miles, so I went with the same tire for replacement. Costco had a nice deal going, $150 off 4 tires, and costco includes automatic road hazard, etc.

Rounded up the rest of the parts to complete my long slide Glock 19.
Now to make time for a range trip.

A resort / spa ?
No, private residence. Nice area.
& why I keep shopping for a home in the neighborhood.
Picked up two of these on Cyber Monday deal.

We already have a big ass Portal (gift form the kids) but the rest of the house is all Echo except the phones and tablets.
A second one of these as a cold spare...
They were blowing them out on the lowest price ever.

I assume you're talking about that $69.99 deal? I debated getting one as I'm looking to upgrade an aging Vera Lite I've had for many years now. The Hubitat has been intriguing to me but I just don't think it's quite ready for prime time from the stuff I was reading. I think they finally got an app but I'd like to see some more development down the road. I still dislike how you have to add so many things out of the box that I would consider basic SA controller type stuff and the tiles and what not are a bit tedious to set up. I like where their mind is in terms of end user customization but I still feel as though more stuff should be propagated out of the box. I opted instead for a Vera Plus via an upgrade for long-time customers they were doing which made it not much more than that Hubitat deal that was running so that's what made the decision for me.

Yes.
I came from Wink to HE in early Sep as they've been circling the drain thanks to Will.I.Am and problematic to say the least for quite some time.
I did quite a bit of research before moving and while the somewhat lack of maturity of the HE is apparent, the lack of dependency on all things cloud for local control was most attractive. ST has seen a fair amount of abandonment among the heavy HA user community lately, all flocking to HE.
Since we're using HA mostly for automation and voice control via Alexa, I'm not to troubled by the infancy of the dashboard/tile setup and the app has presence detection so it's useful to some degree. If the internet or API's are down, I can still use a local HE dashboard/app or wall switches. I've dumped all the "smart bulbs" that repeat (GE and Cree) because they're shitty Zigbee repeaters and put in AC powered Zigbee/Zwave wall plugs and a few non repeating Zigbee bulbs.
If I wasn't concerned about cloud dependency and wasn't heavily invested in Z-Wave as well as Zigbee and Lutron (had to buy a Lutron PRO2 hub to work with HE), I would probably just run everything Zigbee on Echo's hub. I understand Ring also has some Zigbee hub capabilities now, but it's really immature and limited.
As to installing apps in HE, it comes minimally loaded by design and most of the apps are actually provided by HE and just need to be installed if you use them (or not). The add-on community apps are very nice if needed. Most oare stable, some can be problematic. HE has a VERY powerful rules engine so you can do a ton with automation and it's all LOCAL and private (unless you link into cloud API's for other stuff).
I've got HE telling Alexa to speak things (via Echo Speaks), Alexa controlling HE via the provided Alexa App and most of my other automation is handled by "Simple Lighting" and "Motion Lighting." Setting modes based on time of day. luminance, presence etc is simple and effective.
All in all, I'm very pleased with HE and the powerful controls. The add on community apps are useful, and the support community is helpful. There's been lots of negative traffic lately because frankly, there's a bunch of really dumb people that were running Wink that just don't have the skills to setup HE.
Not sure if that was Greek or Latin. Maybe just nerd talk? [Flower]

Everything you said regarding non-cloud controllers is the main reason I've been running the Vera platform for years. I won't run anything that can't function locally w/o the internet.

That would be great! Tucson has most everything we need, but I have a feeling we'll be making the trek to Phoenix somewhat frequently for entertainment purposes.

Left Tucson to move here in '84, couldn't handle the heat any longer (16 years was enough lol). Yes, the home prices in most of Arizona are MUCH lower than here. Still have family in the Tucson and Phoenix areas but my sons are here so here I'll stay. The winters are fantastic, I will agree.
My junior year in college (U of A) I lived across the street from Linda Ronstadt's parents. We always knew when she was visiting as all the family would gather at their house. Her brother Peter was the chief of the Tucson PD for a bit, he came up through the department. I still have many fond memories of southern Arizona, good place to be a kid.

BTW, it also participates in controlling my home automation, alerts me of intrusion, reads the weather to me in the morning, and pretty much whatever else I ask it do do by voice or turning off my alarm.
I can do the same with my phone but it stays in my office after work hours.

My 80% complete P80 build. Picked it up in a Black Friday sale. Kit didn't include sights so I need to pick some up and my slide kit didn't include the extractor depressor plunger so I am hoping to get one in the mail soonish. This was my first Glock, first P80 build and I learned a few things if I decide to make another one.

I've built a few. They are a lot of fun but can be finicky depending on what parts you use. Nice looking setup so far!

Yeah both of the parts kits are stock for now but I will probably end up making changes once I see how it runs as it is. Missing parts sights and shooting are at the top of the list for now though

If they are $4.50 each, they are not a dime a dozen. They are in fact 540 dimes a dozen.

They are tiny computers with a wireless chip and network stack, can be programmed as ardunios.
More plainly, you can connect them with a USB cable to a PC, make some code in a program called ardunio IDE, and use them to control other hardware. In my case, christmas lights, or heating/cooling relays, lights, or truly unique inventions.
And I have been partially corrected, but the are only 54* dimes a dozen [LOL]

I wish I had more budget free to upgrade my infrastructure. I'm still on some pretty old *cough 10+ year*, albet software-upgraded routers. I have so many wish lists it's getting expensive. (fiber optic HDMI for one, Cat 7, shielded patch panels, etc.). I'm ever so slightly tempted to wait and put in a fiber backbone.

Be careful. If they are not DOT approved and you are found at fault in an accident, your insurance company can void your policy, leaving you liable for damages.
Insurance adjusters are aware of this and the investigators hired by ambulance chasing lawyers certainly are.

I'm running LG now. Bought last year with the new kitchen.
Hit and miss.
Fridge is crooked as all hell. One door is all up, the other all down. makes the drawers look crooked too. LG won't do a damn thing about it.
Slide in dual fuel range has had the oven control shaft replaced - f**king plastic part.
Dishwasher is just plain weird. Had a hell of a time getting it installed "level" enough to run. Acts up occasionally. Bought an extra year warranty when registered online.
Love the operations, controls, UI, etc. but concerned about the fit and finish and weird issue with the DW.
Heard the early linear compressors in the fridge had lots of problems but they're reported to have been worked out.
FYI, I'm pretty dang sure LG makes all the Whirlpool and Kenmore appliances.

You should never buy the extended service agreement, because if they will fail, they will fail in the warranty period.

Tell that to anyone with a diesel truck that uses a Bosch CP4.2 HPP that's at 101K miles...
P.S. Had a GE washer fail less than 30 days after the warranty. Dryer wasn't far behind. So no GE for me.

1973 S&W 19-3 Texas Ranger Commemorative. I don't normally care for special editions but this one cost me the same as a same vintage standard 19. No box, etc so it's definitely going to be a shooter. The best action of any Smith I've ever bought. Can't wait to hit the range. This is the gun I asked about filling in the "gold" fill of the crest and barrel lettering that has flaked off. Some of the features include the right side of the trigger guard being trimmed for faster access to the trigger, smooth backstrap for further engraving etc, Texas star in the grips vs the S&W medallion.

Linear compressor went out in ours. Compressor parts warrantied for 10 years, but no labor warranty. Costs big bucks to get the parts installed, and from what I could tell in my research, the replacements are also going out. It's a flawed design and there have been a couple of class action lawsuits around it. I also had to replace the ice maker around year 2 and they had an updated part for that. I wasn't going to put another dime into it. Went from a 31 cubic ft. to a 25 cubic ft. Whirlpool and don't notice the difference. The space in the Whirlpool is much more efficient and useful.
Whirlpool owns Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, HotPoint, JennAir, Amana...and some others. An American company and made in 'Merica. Have also been quite happy with the Maytag washer and dryer that replaced an LG washer and dryer a few years ago.
Kenmore used to be Whirlpool for decades, but they switched to LG when Sears was beginning to suck wind.
That's a beaut! Congrats on that nice S&W.
Since it's a shooter, I'd try my hand at filling the lettering with something like this fine point gold paint pen - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018N6214/

You should never buy the extended service agreement, because if they will fail, they will fail in the warranty period.

my 08 toyota, which are supposedly some of the better built vehicles out there. Had the front structs crap out @ 59K along with a water pump, main seal and pulley. That extended Toyota Warranty i scored on for cost +10 @ 58K on a used vehicle, cost 1/3 less than the repairs Toyota paid for. They've paid even more when the front axle on the AWD took a shit.
Same for a stove that crapped out 3x. Surprised at the coverage some mfg offer on items. Same for amazon and of all places, walmart.
Now you want to talk about a worthless piece of paper. Don't ever allow an older family member to do a reverse mortgage.
At 9 years old, my son is just on the outward bound of where we can absolutely make him lose his shit for a hundred bucks worth of Pokemon sheets, wall stickers, and a utility strip:
https://www.johnnyego.com/wood/2019Projects/vindesk/vindesk84.JPG
We did this while he was in school, and when he saw what we had done, it absolutely melted his mind. Like I did when my own parents gave me Star Wars sheets in '81. Most rewarding return on a hundred bucks I've had in years.
I love that utility strip with lights, where did you find that?

A far better deal than an extended warranty is the mechanical breakdown coverage offered by some insurance companies. I have GEICO and pay about $60 per year. Covers everything except normal wear/tear items with a $250 deductible. Take it to any repair shop, pay deductible, done. You can get it on a car that's 2 model years old with less than 15k miles and I think they'll offer it for 7 years.

While I generally agree when this statement is applied to 99% of the products out there, I recently bought a new car and opted for the 10yr/125K mile warranty extension and for $,600 I don't think it was overpriced. If nothing breaks for the first decade I'm fine with being out $1600 and calling that expenditure a mistake.

Glock 19 Gen 4. New and Unfired for $360 off Armslist.
I?m happy as fuuuuuuuck!
If you were looking at it the other day I got it.
Remington 552 Speedmaster. By far one of the coolest 22 rifles I've owned. This will run 22 short, 22 long and 22 LR.
Picked this up the other day as well. HK 416 22. Sighted it in with the Primary Arms 1x6 at 25 yards. It ate whatever I fed it without issue. Great little rifle.

Tuna Creations Hickory smoked is pretty good. I eat two packs a day.
Sweet! How is the trigger pull?
Crap. It's comparable to a brand new mil-spec AR trigger. Gritty, stiff...but it has a nice crisp break. I think once I get more rounds under it, it'll smooth out a bit. Unfortunately it's a proprietary trigger pack, so I can't toss a better trigger in it. But, for the money, it's a lot of fun to shoot regardless.
I've wanted a scope setup for the 5.56 like the Mark AR 1.5-4x20mm FireDot that's on my .300 BLK. Midway is running a good sale on the Leupold VX-R Patrol 1.25-4x 20mm (https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1009600492) with the Illuminated FireDot SPR Reticle so I had to jump on it. My goal was to keep the DD as light as possible and the VXR with the LaRue QD mount is about as good as it gets for a magnified optic. A bonus is that the VXR is a big step up in the quality of glass over the Mark AR. I'm tempted to get another one.
I really like the illuminated reticle on these scopes because with a good weapon light I can hit targets from a good distance at night.

Yeah, you could swing buy the drive-thru and grab a burger, a tray of cookies, and a gallon of milk. I remember them having really good crinkle cut fries (but that was decades ago). It's an odd mix of restaurant and tiny grocery store. I also remember their limeades being pretty good.

Not too steep to climb, traction provided by "grippy" rubber instead of sand paper, sturdy and doesn't move when dog on it.
Single 6' ramp too steep and "grit" used for traction tears up dogs feet when slide on it.

If you are a Sam's club member, they sell $50 worth of gift cards to Wing Shack for $40.

We are boring and just get "hot."
The old lady and I always get bear hot. Their ranch is amazing.
If you really want some good hot wings, Bogeys (Highlands golf course in Greeley) has hands down the hottest wings I have ever had in my life. They offer them at bomb level 1-10 and I can attest the 10's are insane but still have a great flavor. If any NoCo guys want to meet there for some, I am always up for wings!

Nice bike.
Wing Shack discriminates against us way down south in Dixie.

DIY or shop?
How much did it cost to do a dip job?
Nice.
New nightstand pistol. My first ever 40. And the ammo to test and plink with. And the dies to reload that brass with.

Yeah...that's a brace I still need to install. And yes. I like nice shoes and belts. I used to have to wear a suit all the time. Now I almost never do.
Funny. I got out of 40sw to get 9mm.
Now I am getting out of 45acp to get 40sw.
Currently shopping for cz tso 40sw. (Also fits 9mm barrel accoring to YouTube and forums).

Speaking of Thornton, there is a punk@ss kid in 13000 block of LeydenSt who drives a gray GTR drive like a bitch ass crazy ~100mph at Holly, 136th, and 144th. I think people who lives near there are sick and tired of that punk ass, and I am about to send the footage of him driving like crazy to Thornton.
Rack up a couple videos and turn them in.

2019 HD Softail Slim, bought it pre-owned with 55 miles on it LOL. Got a great deal, ran up to Evergreen this morning. Waiting on a few trim pieces and a set of slip ons to make it mine. The redesigned chassis and M8 motor are awesome! Love how it handles, great power-110 ft lbs of torque, excellent suspension. Perfect for my type of riding.

New radio with AppleCar play for the old Tundra. Now I can actually say it?s hands free calling without just having my phone on speaker sitting on my lap. For anyone that doesn?t know, Best Buy does free installation with almost any radio you purchase from them and it also has a lifetime warranty. I didn?t believe it but they matched Crutchfield?s price and I didn?t pay for anything else.

This made me start looking at adding AppleCar play to my other truck. A little googling around and apparently it has it from the factory. I have had this truck for almost a year not knowing it?s been there this whole time! I?m happy but also feel like an idiot for never even trying it.

Nice. I really like Apple CarPlay, better executed than Android Auto. I really like how good Pandora sounds on my stereo.

Nice! Probably works better than the E-Tune system in the new Toyotas. Like the trim facia, too.
No pics but I got boring stuff done on my Gen 1 Tundra today, new brakes and complete fluids change @ 217K miles. Should help it go another 100K.

It’s almost a must have. If they have it, it’s the JVC-KW750BT. It’s a JVC unit made by Kenwood. It was on sale online for $359 but in store it was on sale for $269. The geek squad guy swore by it and said he runs it every vehicle he owns. I’m extremely happy with it so far.

Do they have the 12" screen in the Gladiator. I love it in my Ram. Google Maps on top and music on the bottom at the same time.

There might be a bagel & cauliflower gene. My husband likes both, I like neither.
I guess I have a genetic anomaly. I like bagels (just ate one for breakfast) and can't stand cauliflower.

I like cauliflower just fine. But not in a pizza crust. I want all the carbs and glutens I can get in my pizza crust. And I'll take my cauliflower steamed or roasted with plenty of garlic and lots of butter.

I disagree. That's a waste of butter IMO. I'll stick to the taters.

Interesting, how did the crust turn out? I might try it if I can find it
We like cauliflower and Mrs. Hummer makes a delicious cauliflower soup. Kinda like potato soup but better.

This topic makes me hungry for Leek soup. Mom makes the best soups. Or "boiled dinner" hambone/hocks with taters veggies and cabbage.
Going to wire this to one of the factory order aux switches.
Don't even have the truck yet.

Is that the fancy way of just installing manual locking hubs?
Is that the fancy way of just installing manual locking hubs?
Pretty much, for a truck with a straight axle center disconnect and no locking hubs. It's $149 plug and play convenient control from the cab vs. $$$$.
Gives me low range on pavement without beating everything up.
Finally ordered this Friday.

I love 2wd low. It's perfect for my low powered Amigo, especially pulling a trailer up a trail that doesn't otherwise require 4wd.

I think you need a low mileage late model diesel to pull your stuff.
Do you like the color gray?
Can I pick it up for $500? If not, I don't think it's for me.
