Those are kind of cool looking shoes. What are they for? Hope that hair straightener works okay for you too.

They are Under Armour Acquisition boots, supposedly a tactical boot. I got them for driving my buggy. The foot well area is so tight I get black marks on my left shoe from the dead pedal. I figure a black boot would solve it. They are also kind of narrow which should help.

The hair straightener is actually velcro alfa-lok. The other is a quick release for a CB antenna.

They'ye on to assist moving air thru the engine area for cooling. . Years ago doing body work for a few car rental places. We'd keep the front spoiler / air dam off ones that were cracked / broken. Turns out those cars were over heating by the time we got them back in at the airport. After some research those "cosmetic" spoilers actually were useful. It's why you see them on a lot of high revving compact & sub compact vehicles.

I get it.

I've had a few Fords. 65 Mustang, 86 Bronco II and only the Ranger (Mazda) almost left me stranded every time it got hot and wouldn't engage the starter. Dealer never could figure out the electrical gremlins and I moved up to something bigger so I could tow so it was the last one I'll probably ever own.

My dad was, and I'm now a diehard Dodge (Cummins diesel) man.

My dad drives a cummins for a living (in his Freightliner), I have the crank with the #6 spun waiting to be turned into a mailbox post(f'n HEAVY, and it did have over a million miles on it). If I were hunting a diesel, cummins or the Ford 7.3 would be up there.

I have been putting 100 miles on the 06 each workday, and 1 weekend day for the last 2 years. Chasing neglected maintenance (some of it my fault) and the fuel made the move for me. She was old and tired, but may make a decent farm truck.it wasn't a great daily, but hopefully the TT v6 is better.

That's not stock power. 450/935 for a 2018/2019 Ford and those ^ numbers don't make sense. If it's 600HP, it's a hell of a lot more torque than 1K.

That was an accident. Not intentional, like removing smog items from your vehicle ;)

The fact they came up with the lame excuse they used to excuse the "mishap" is appalling in itself.

That greenies are more concerned and blaming trump for the state of national parks. Rather than hold the EPA to the fire for that mine debacle is telling.

Makes one wonder exactly what is the contribution of toxic carbon gas emissions into the USA from 35 million illegal aliens who don't share our environmental values? Some of my liberal friends wonder how their party that used to be the party advocating for environmental protection through controlled population has now become the advocate for uncontrolled human immigration which can only result in the destruction of our natural environment. After being on a 7 month waiting list for a vaccination in short supply I got the first of two Shingles vaccinations using the latest (2017-->) Shringrix formulation which is recommended over the previous (2006-->) Zoster vaccine. The Zoster is only good for ~5 years and is not adequately effective for older seniors. People who turn 60 shouldn't fail to get the Shingles vac (unless you want to suffer painful sores potentially for years). I got my first Zoster as soon as insurance would cover it at age 60. This first of 2 Shringrix vacs cost me $148 even with Medicare and supplemental RX. Far better than getting Shingles.

See the CDC paper for the lowdown: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd/shingles/public/zostavax/index.html

They get about seven doses a month from the feds, don't know why the feds are regulating it? Maybe just getting us ready when we're all on Obama's Un-affordable Care act.

I think it was underestimated demand, maybe by the feds or maybe by the US provider, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), which makes Shingrix. It may be the reason why it costs so much, but who knows and who will fess up? I got on wait lists at Walgreens and Sam's, and Sam's came through first. Walgreens said they're getting 10 doses a month at one Longmont store.

That looks great!

I like Dominguez Canyon in a kayak best but usually end up doing it in a canoe instead because its worthwhile to camp for a few nights. I've never gone down a river on a raft & only once rafted on a lake which wasn't very fun.

I've run Escalante and Dominguez canyons numerous times in both canoe and Klepper kayaks. The best river runs in Colorado in so many ways. Sold the old canoe two weeks ago but the Klepper is raring to go.

It went alright. We took one out to one lake Saturday and the other to another lake yesterday. Both outings were enjoyable but I think we're going to need another couple of trips to compare again because I liked one better than the other and the wife went oppo of my opinion. More testing is required to reach an agreement. Good excuse to get out on the water though!

Ummmm, yes. Took me a while to remember that.

I've got a Crossfire II 6-24x50 on there now (size Fentonite bought), but the Crossfire II just has a plain cross reticle. On the plain reticle, the only marking is where the line goes from thin to thick, and I'm just not a good enough shooter for that to work for me for hold over. I've heard this scope is a great deal so I jumped on one while I've got money. I'm really surprised at how thin the reticle is at min power. I stepped down on the power because the eye box gets so narrow on the bigger one that I was mostly using it around 16x anyway. Plus, I'm likely not going to try and shoot an animal at ranges where I'd need that much anyway. I'm hoping to finally get an antelope this year. I missed one my first year due to lack of distance experience and that plain reticle. Which basically boils down to just my own lack of experience, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Plus, buying new equipment after failures due to lack of skill is basically an American hunting tradition.

My new slides for my 96A1 One is a 22 conversion and the other is a 9mm slide. Because of the larger frame the dust cover has some space between the frame and slide but I think they will both work for the Range and plinking on the cheap. Now I just need to find a couple cheap 92 mags for the 9mm setup

I have been using a vm (virtual machine) running samba to play with having a network attached drive. It worked, but I rather not keep a 'real' computer running just to play some music, etc.

So I bought one of these on Amazon Prime days....ordered the NAS+memory+SSD drive and had the NAS disappear at the local Colorado Springs Amazon shipping area.

78498

I did get about 80 dollars off, stuffed in a SSD for speed...thinking I will put a secondary ssd (m.2 style) to allow faster write times.
I only installed one 8T drive, with only one drive bay used. Installed some plex server software so it can be a media server.
Upgraded the memory (RAM) from 4 gig to 8 gig.

The NAS supports 2 M.2 ssd drives for read and and write cache. The max write up on the NAS indicates that it can store 40T for total storage using 10T drives. They do have 14T drives out there but not sure if the system has been upgraded to work with that size drives.

The cache will be 2 500Gig m.2 ssd drives when I have the budget for the upgrade.

I just wish the NAS and my network supported something faster than 1G network. Right now loading files I show I am using 100% bandwidth between my computer and the NAS.

Configuration is using JBOD.

I run a DS918+ at home. Have a 2 x 256 GB Samsung M.2 read/write cache + 4 x 4 GB HDD using btrfs. Also upgraded the RAM. These things are pretty slick.

You can create a 'bonded' LAN connection using both 1GB NICs to increase your throughput.

I have an older 5-bay model that I loaded with the Virtual Machine Manager last week to use as a lab.

Have fun with your new NAS!

Cool tech....I do run a few VM's (virtual machines) on my computer mostly for fun. Doing the base load of files is sure slow over the network...esp if you miss the pop up question asking for a response. Maybe I will try the external usb drive method to see if copies would be faster.

Found the USB copy package for the hardware....this should help out a bit...if my external hard drives are recognized.

While waiting for the current copy to finish I will play with my new home drone...
Dang it is a bit smaller than I thought....

They start a new campaign every month. There are a variety of products...valued from literally a few cents (like a pack of o-rings, for example) to things worth several hundred dollars...like a new model Bosch dishwasher. They send an email, you go to the site, select products...first come, first served. Then it's shipped right to the house. Bosch did call and offer to set up professional installation (I'd be responsible for the cost) but I declined. Dishwashers are easy if you're just replacing one with another.

20 days. Which is hard for some products. I got some lawn fertilizer and didn't have an opportunity to put it down for almost 3 weeks due to weather. Hard to give an accurate review for something like that in 20 days.

That's a nice looking range. I'm seeing that many appliance manufacturers are pushing black/cast iron finishes lately. Supposedly stainless is 'out'. I like stainless for the same reasons that the food service industry likes stainless. I don't see it having the issue of being dated like turquoise, avocado green, and harvest gold. Those will probably come back as the hottest 'new thing' any day now.

Good luck with the reno!

Yes, I do have a vent over the range. This picture was before the hood was installed and I vented it to the outside. The range is 30?W and the hood is a stainless Vent-a-Hood 36? 900cfm model that?s inserted into a hood cover. Don?t know why pics are sideways.

I really wanted an FDE SCAR when I bought this almost four years ago. It was brand new and I got it for $1800 So I knew I couldn't beat the price. After my first SBR I vowed never to go through the NFA process for an SBR when the brace market is exploding. Then I saw an SBR SCAR and had to do it.

To clarify my post a little bit, I was hoping to make purchase of a FDE CZ Bren pistol in 300 Blackout. Then, after SBR approval of course, adapt a SCAR side folder to it. I had a Bren on order forever when CZ announced it but then they went on "delay" and I finally gave up after nearly two years and cancelled my order.

Something similar to below is what I had in mind but FDE & 300BLK (photo credit to Dsully)

But yea, 9mm would be cool and less $$ to run binary.

it's not a SBR. It's a pistol with ATF approved (for now) SBA3 brace.

Clue me in.

If you're talking about a plate, I don't have one mounted. Haven't for 15 years, just never filled the (dealer drilled grrr...) holes.

It's a bad shot as I see I missed the front bumper corner. The 15 years of bumper rash sure shows.

She needs a little TLC. I need to replace the headlight and hood clear bra, fix a few parking lot and rock dings and do a little paint correction. Would be nice to get that bumper resprayed but it's already a money pit.

Thanks. Putting one together for my son who is stoked to have his own and doesn't have to use his old mans rifle length. Got a deal on it. I got the optic from a forum member, and the upper I picked up from someone off the files.
Its funny - the ak guys sell ar stuff cheaper than its worth and then the ar guys sell ak stuff for more than its worth.[LOL]

Filter, 16 quarts of ATF+4. Did a DIY replacement by pumping the old fluid out the cooler return to trans line and fresh fluid in. Did the pan and filter first, then the pumping.

Fluid was not as bad as I thought it might be but saw some extended high temps and I had a few odd shifts so I just replaced it.

No pic but I dumped a can of R134a in the old gal. Definitely going to need some TLC after this last summer tow trip.

I don't know if they do currently or not. About 20 years back I was at a friends place playing games. Things got over and there were a few of us in the apartment parking lot talking for a few minutes and officers pulled in and stopped and questioned us. The officer who I spoke with measured my pocket knife based on palm width. Ended up they were looking for someone specific and they quickly left. No hassle or problems.

It's a 3-4 hr drive RT to the valley (phoenix) and back. Like driving from my old place to denver, just way less traffic, for now. I'll probably grill a few. But to get that "east coast" experience they have to be boiled, then sit there all day in warm water.
Thinking if i can find some homeless person to serve one or two with red onions from a cart. For that real NYC deja vu .

Now ged da fukouttahea, ya bum.

I forgot.... they also sell Coney Island style Knish's. OY VEY!

Brought back memories of getting those type of steamed dogs from a place called Joe Nemo's (I think that was the name) back in Boston when I was a lad.

Zebra F-701, I bought it to do the F-402 mod, making the 701 100% metal, and to my surprise, the 701's are now all metal, including the ink cartridge.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190816/ee6da5c671bc954c8fe93d6ef46b076b.jpg

The ZT0350 I bought the other day needed some help on the blade and my wider sharpening stone made getting an edge on the recurve blade somewhat difficult, enter the worksharp pocket knife sharpener.

Double Action.

I thought it was broken because I couldn't get it to seat, when I first played with it. But once I got it seated... blamo… out the front, and double action, suck it back up!

I just tossed a set of those in the trash. I was having a heavy squawking noise from the front of my truck and figured out the top part of the strut was rubbing on the inside of the spacer. I ended up going with taller struts with no spacer to accomplish the same thing.

These are wheel spacers, I need them to space the wheels out to prevent the tire rubbing on the swaybar at full turn. Should work perfectly.

Should one assume that you're not concerned about scrub radius with whatever you're running them on?

They are going on my Jeep JKUR. It can cause some faster wear of the ball joints but I already have aftermarket heavy duty ball joints. Not much different than wheels with less backspacing.

Irving

It changes the radius, so you may start rubbing somewhere else, like the floor board.

newracer
08-23-2019, 13:56
Plenty of reports that the 1.25" spacer eliminates all rubbing for the size of tire I now have. Small chance they will hit the fender on full stuff but I can live with that.

Just throwing stuff out there. Sounds like you've got it dialed in.

I appreciate it. I read a bunch of info trying to decide between a 1.25" and 1.5" spacer.
